Saturday is actually the sabbath day because the Catholic Church has told the world that the they changed in to Sunday and in the bible when Jesus was crucified it clearly states that he woke up on the first day of the week which is Sunday and that he rested on the sabbath even while he was dead (Matthew 28)

So many times I realized I've prefaced many prayers with "forgive me." I've got stuff I need to work on but I keep forgetting that maybe it's better to preface my prayers with "thank you" as in thank you for your grace and forgiveness. I've battled pornography addiction for the longest time, and I think the worst part of it is I miss the little slip ups while hyper focusing on the big vice. All while feeling too unclean to turn my eyes back on God and getting back in the saddle. But I realize that this condemnation is a trick of the devil. Every time I fall short and don't withdraw in guilt, God's still small voice is always the one saying, "don't sweat it, dust yourself off and try again." Not to deny the seriousness of sin obviously, but remember the lord loves you and understands what you are going through better than you do. If you are dealing with something, remember that God is with you, has forgiven you, and you are never beyond saving so long as you dust yourself off and try again in earnestness. Brothers and sisters, let's pray for each other, I know I certainly need it.

Especially the 10th commandment. 2 things to note however: - While you recognize that you need Jesus because you fail to obey his laws, you still need to aim for that goal: To not sin. - I'm a Jewish Christian and in Israel we have Saturday as the 7th day of the week, meaning it's Sabbath that day. Anyways, while it's important to keep the Sabbath, I strongly suggest doing it on Saturday because it's more biblical and historically accurate. Yes, I know I sound like I complain about a minor issue. I know that God would still listen to and love you despite what day you keep the Sabbath. I know everyone is on their own journey with God. I'm not trying to look more holy than you. All I want to say is that the Sabbath is actually on Saturday. Just bringing awareness, not arguments. Love you, brothers and sisters in Christ ❤

The Lord's Day was created to celebrate the resurrection being on the first day of the week. The day of rest, or Sabbath, falls on the last day, that being Saturday. Constantine The Great legislated rest on the pagan holiday of Sunday. Church councils adopted this day as that of rest in the early middle ages. The correct source is always God and his word, not councils or politicians.

Very true. No where in the commandment, or in the rest of the Bible, does it say we need to go to church on the Sabbath. We are just to work 6 days, remember the seventh day, rest on it and keep it Holy. However communal worship is good and does not break the fourth commandment. 3:20 the commandant literally says to work 6 days, and God gives us the example through creation when he says he did good creative work for those 6 days, and it's not one day out of the week, it is a specific day that God and God Alone set apart. Sunday is not the Sabbath, people who keep Sunday as Sabbath do so out of tradition from the Sunday Obligation Doctrine from the Catholic church. That's where you were getting the church attendance being the mandatory part of keeping the Sabbath. Otherwise pretty good overview

It basically says that you should obey in every way except sin, or cause for sin. God comes first. You did have the right to run away. If a parent tells you to wash the dishes, well you MUST do the dishes. Things like that. In cases like yours, it will sound a bit difficult but, you're still bound to take care of your dad when he grows old. Maybe not with you there personally but economically at least. That's just how it is. The Old Testament punished that exact sin with the death penalty.

Saturday is the day of the Lord, not the first day of the week, Sunday. It's wrong to preach untruth on the day that God asked us to specifically remember, and that Christ Himself even rested on in death before his resurrection. Shabbat = Sabbath, and the Sabbath falls on Saturday.

Anyway, another summary. 1. Love God - all the law and the prophets point to this and loving your neighbor goes with it. This is the Great Commandment, the rest, to steal a line from a famous rabbi, is commentary. 2. No idols - love the real God, not a fake one you have constructed for yourself. 3. Don’t claim to speak for God or give God commands (the original was, from what I’ve heard, aimed at cursing others with the hope that God would smite them). Often applied to swearing oaths (basically telling God to force you to keep a promise), which gets confused for bad language (“swearing.”) 4. Keep the Sabbath. Traditionally this was Saturday and nothing Biblically changed it to Sunday. Jesus healed on the Sabbath though, so keep that in context when enforcing it - the Sabbath was made for us. 5. Honor your parents. Complicated, since they are in many ways just “another neighbor” - this is one of the ones that always leaves me scratching, especially with Jesus rejecting brothers and sisters for fellow believers. 6. No murder, specifically, though the term includes things like what we’d now call criminally negligent homicide. No easy answer here on capital punishment or war. 7. No adultery. Since marriage is a promise made in the name of God, this one is actually redundant with #3 on vain invocation and #10 on coveting another’s wife (husbands also but there wasn’t much space on the tablet). 8. No stealing. This is a bit redundant with #10 in that wanting it is already forbidden, much less acting on that want, but bears repeating. 9. Do not falsely accuse people or support false accusations, specifically. Lying to protect people isn’t really addressed here, nor are military deceptions, etc… those may be issues under #1 though. 10. Don’t want things that belong to someone else. Adultery and theft are acting on those wants, but even wanting them is a sin. Consider in parallel that hating someone is akin to murdering them (1John3:15). Really, though, it’s all about #1. The rest are just some high points because they bear repeating.
