Yes Christmas is about Jesus birth but what about the Santa Claus that put gifts in houses thanks to a flying sledge pulled by reindeer ? What about Santa having little helpers making toys in the North pole called elfs ? What about lying to childrens telling them Santa will come and gift them gifts ? What about the Tree also ?

Jesus looks on the inside while man looks on the outward while you may just see their physical wealth, inheritance and influence as less they are still working with the little strength that they have but god looks at their spiritual wealth and strength do they believe in god do they truly have the faith in Jesus Christ and doing his will. That s what is important unity in the one spirit that leads you to the truth. The church is god’s people in the one faith the one spirit and truth that through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved by the grace of god. The church is not the physical building or just a denomination or what it is doing in greatness for Jesus. The church (god’s people) should strive to be like the people of god in Philadelphia in the scriptures, Revelation 3:7-13. AMEN

Interesting. In Romania we have a day for St Nicholas which is separate from Christmas (I guess it has to do with Romania being Orthodox and using another calendar for saints' days). Anyway, it's on 6th December and according to the tradition, if you were a nice kid this year you get good gifts from St Nicholas, and if you were a naughty kid you receive a stick (with which your parents can beat you). I think it has to do with the association between the concepts of heresy and naughty-ness, and St Nicholas literally hitting the naughty heretic.

Is the Roman Catholic Church a semi-Pelagian cult and therefore not part of the ‘Catholic’ church,let alone the whole Church.
@3x1572 сағат бұрын
I don't know if this is correct, but I always understood that God gave us his only son and gave him the Holy Spirit, which united all three into one. There for they are all God. God - God Jesus - God with us Holy Spirit - God in us

Arius was a priest under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the bishopry of Alexandria, which was held by Alexander and the Athanasius. So, we can learn that's better to submit to the authority of your bishop! To be fair, Arius became a scapegoat, subordinationism wasn't created by him ex nihilo, but was most probably developed against Sabellianism (aka Passiopatrism, aka Modalism) in an environment which was heavily influenced by Greek philosophy, in an attempt to conciliate the Biblical Oneness and the Aristotelic/Platonic immutability of the Divine. Since IV Century Roman culture was heavily Hellenized, in fact Trinitarianism played in the same field, naturally became a hot and divisive topic. By early V Century, the many "Arian" sects lost their intellectual reference and their survival depended just on traditional and political factors. By the end of the VI, with the sundown of German-Roman Kingdoms and the dawn of the Frankish Kingdom as regional power, Arianism lost relevance, even something survived until the VIII. Trivia: Arian baptism wasn't valid because they lacked of inner (right) faith. They mostly used standard formulas, only radicals didn't and were criticized by the moderates for that. They didn't baptize hanging the convert by the heels: that's just propaganda. Trivia number 2: Isaac Newton thought to have found the original Christianity, the one without popish (Athanasius was pope of Alexandria) or state influence. By the way, since I'm writing this comment on the 25th of December, I wish a merry Christmas to all!

This 10000%!!! I would also like to add that I've come to realize that accepting Jesus is less about securing your ticket to heaven and more about restoring your relationship with our Creator and Heavenly Father, and going to heaven is merely a byproduct of spending eternity with Him!

I need to know. Did Santa actually factually punch Arius in the face? Because if so, that's the best thing I've heard all year.

It doesn't really matter that Santa is based on the real St. Nicholas. What matters is, what the secular world made out of him. And thats why I reject Satan, oh excuse me, I meant Santa.

Jesus actually said mustard seeds are the smallest seeds of garden plants? Did they not grow lettuce back then? Or onions? - Feels like jesus debunked his own inerrancy\infallability with that one.

The "real story of Santa" is, of course, an American government invention to tame away the public excesses in the Puritan absence of an observance of a Roman Catholic calendar with their saint's days and special masses, including Christmas and Easter. "Santa" is but a reflection of Saint Nicholas. And both are an affront to the Lord's Day worship recognized by our Reformed forefathers. I love our dear brother and would encourage him to forsake such worship contrivances as Christmas, as befitting our Reformed heritage in American Puritanism. A regulative principle of worship may be flawed, but the pride of king Uzziah (2 Chron. 26) teaches us to be most careful and rejecting of man-made forms worship in any way dishonouring to our most holy Lord.

Why are "Christians" trying to usurp a pagan holiday? Because former christians wanted to fit in the world, we're supposed to continue pagan traditions? Get real. We're supposed to be in the world,but not of the world.
