I think the reason they made captain Grey have green armor in the Bad Batch was due to all of the Coruscant Guard/ shock troopers in the bad batch. The writers wanted people to distinguish him from the other red clones

It makes sense. I like him better green honestly. Its better that way cause for red troopers there’s already the Coruscant Guard, the 91st Corps, and the 87th Corps. I guess the 21st Corps too but sometimes they look more purpleish than red.

So my way of patching up the Kanan inconsistency is that the red armor is their phase 1 colors, and when they transitioned to phase 2, they changed to green. Kanan is recalling these repressed and muddled memories while drunk and that’s why stuffs a bit mixed up in the comic, it’s kanan combining several memories into one.

I wish that Rex was a commander longer instead of a Captain in Star Wars the clone wars. I wish that Captain Grey and his men hadn’t killed Jedi Master Depa Billaba and Caleb Dume. Jup. You can actually see him in the original trilogy. There is an old man in the Rebel Squad on Endor with a grey beard and Dave Filoni thought: This could be Rex!!! And then they made it canon at the end of Rebels.
