My guy, have you seen DK's Down Smash? That move is way less useful compared to Hand Slap which is used as a kill confirm into Up Smash, a safe spike to throw out in the air, and even on the ground, chunk shields, potentially breaking them. It's a key tool in DK's kit unlike Down Smash which is really weak and is never seen used.
