The tire went back in place so easy for you. When I tried doing it took me about 20mins and 2 people. The spacers kepted coming off when I tried to get it aligned back on the swingarms. Felt like there was 1-2mm of space missing. I had to get the right side in position then forced the sprocket side in. I have a 2019 650. Notice the 2023 doesn't have a lock nut on the chain adjuster at least on your bike it doesn't

Hi Aft3rl1fe, this 650 had lock nuts on both the chain tensioner bolts, but they fell off from vibration and I have seen many not use them. Perhaps a nylon locking nut would work better there. Installing and aligning the tire wheel on the bike does take a little practice. Put the wheel on with all the axel and parts in place and a loosened chain tensioner on both sides. Once the axel is in place, get the chain tensioners close to the same mark they were when you took them off. Then adjust to the correct slack plus a smidge more cause when you tighten the axel nut it will tighten the chain a little. The right-side chain tensioner, if you're sitting on the bike, will not seat properly when the bike is on the lifts and it requires reversing a rag in the sprocket to force it in position, or if your bike is on its kick stand, it will force that chain tensioner side in position. You can and should put a bead of axel grease in the wheel axel openings, then when you put your spacers on, they will stick in place better plus give your bearings some fresh axel grease (I use Mobile 1 synthetic wheel bearing grease). I should have done this to the 650. I did this on my front and rear tire replacement on the new 6r videos. Hope this helps.

Thank you for this, I took off the rear wheel and couldn't remember which spacer went where.

Awesome work putting that on solo! It's one of the best workouts and that last part at 7:00 is a 10/10 for difficulty for the last 1/4 wedged onto the rim to complete mounting the tire to the rim. I use the C Clamp again to hold one side, which helped a lot from sliding off again. Ha! Like a WWE Wrestler. ;) That is what it takes honestly. :) Sometimes the spoons on this last part are too big, so I'll also use two smaller long screw drivers to hold their position so they don't keep sliding back under all the tremendous pressure. The grease to help the tire fill up really helps while filling with air, good tips! When filling, those two loud POPs of each side of the bead rim of the tire snapping onto the rim are great to hear and a sure bet it's secure on there. Greal job, Mike!

Thanks, Frank, for you good tips on doing this. I had to take a break in the middle of getting that last bead in the rim. Interesting to use smaller long screwdrivers as that would probably help as they would not slip out of position like a tire spoon does. I have to now replace both tires on the 636 and may do that tomorrow. Will eat a bowl of Wheaties that AM before the work lol.

@@StreetMotoZ Cool. Yes, two bowls of Wheaties should give you the energy for two tires. ;)

Is that an 8 inch C-clamp that you used here?
@StreetMotoZКүн бұрын
Hi Amalthomas, yes, that is an 8" C-clamp. It will fit most motorcycle tires for removal. And if you could put an electric socket driver on it, it would be faster and less work.
