*Correction* I called squash and racquetball the same sport in the video, however, although they look similar they are 2 different sports. People are trying to add *squash* to the Olympics. Sorry for this error! Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this video do me a favor and subscribe, I put many hours into this video so it would be greatly appreciated! Also, hit the like button. I really want the Olympics to add an event just called "The Olympic" thats 1 event from each discipline, one or 2 a day for the entire duration, and one athlete has to do all the things. Test just how well rounded you really are as an athlete
@dundee64025 ай бұрын
That would be humanely impossible though. Not only are there 140+ types of sport variations at the Olympics, but they require very different things from the body. There's for instance no way you can be a good quick, nimble gymnast and a buff, strong weightlifter at the same time. Not to mention this would be a logistical nightmare, since you would need so many training sessions in quick successions from very different trainers across different fields.
@dundee64025 ай бұрын
To be fair the olympics already have the triathlon, modern pentathlon and decathlon which already fill the "well-roundedness" you're asking 🤷

Climbing was a combined event in Tokyo with only one medal set for lead, bouldering and speed together, however, in Paris speed got its own separate category while bouldering & lead stay combined. It was a very anticipated change, because speed climbing requires a very different set of skills compared to the rest. Looking forward to separate categories for lead and bouldering in the future

Veryyy minor correction but I thought it’s quite interesting - horse riding was in the ancient Olympic Games, 680BC 😅 it’s actually one of the oldest sports in general. If we are talking modern times, the equestrian sports were also part of the 1900 Paris Olympics

I cannot wait for this years olympics. Rugby sevens are looking VERY good this year, cannot wait to see Dupont play sevens instead of the usual rugby. Same with cycling - with tour de france just ending and most of the riders being half dead, maybe someone unexpected is going to do something for once. I dont remember being this hyped for the games in a long time.

Sounds exciting! I’m personally more of a track & field and basketball fan. Sydney McLaughlin and Noah Lyles are always fun to watch and can do some damage in the sprint events and hurdles this year, and I feel like the 400m record is up for grabs by legit anyone, it’s about time someone breaks 43. As for basketball, Team USA is very exciting and a lot of those guys are coming up on the end of their professional careers, so it’s kinda a last hurrah for them!
@catpool365 ай бұрын
@@hotrodrunning the track and field events have always been a staple piece of the Olympics - definitely going to be watching that as well, even if I don't know the athletes that good. I am expecting Lyles to go at least near to the 200m WR. As for basketball, I think that USA is going to dominate this year - I don't see anyone coming even close with the roster that they have.

Hi, I’d like to offer a correction: squash and racquetball are completely different sports played with different racquets, balls, and on a different court. Racquetball is faster, and more high velocity. Great video Aaron, but this bit here is incorrect.
