While I don’t think it was a bad idea to separate Lupinranger’s and Patranger’s designs, I feel like they should be considered as two sides of the same coin. They are meant to contrast one another (especially with how much of a goody-two shoes Ken’ichiro can be or how little Kairi could care even for his own self-imposed rules for better or for worse). Lupinrangers have black accents and have a mysterious aura. Patrangers have white accents and their identities are public knowledge. Together they a stronger design than they have separately.

you really undersold timeranger there, the way they integrate clock hands into the suits is such a smart design (minutes, the bigger one, for the chest, hours, the smaller one, for the helmet and seconds, the smallest one, inside the minute hand)

10:10 That's actually a 5 on their chest, because, fun fact! Maskman was originally meant to be called Fiveman until VERY late into production. It's why they have the 5 on their chest and why their combined mecha is called Great Five.

The Maskman suits have a 5 on the chest because it was supposed to be called Fiveman. It was changed late into development though. Fiveman ended up being used later. It's also why the main mech in Maskman is called Great Five.

I like that every person I have seen that talks about the suits of Kyoryuger NEVER seems to notice that the chest design, including the shoulder piece, resembles a dino head. The triangular segmented yellow section form teeth, the upper silver(/gold on silver) band actually has a small black rectangle (both front and back) on the opposite side of the shoulder piece, and represents a nostril, then finally the red rectangle on the shoulder piece is the eye of the dino head. Kyoryugold is a slight exception, since his nostril design is actually close to his shoulder piece that has said red. But this makes sense since his chest design is meant to be reminiscent of a pterosaur

I know you said this was your subjective preference and other diehards shit on MMPR because it gets the most content and they want their favorite show featured more, but putting Zyuranger so low when there’s a reason it’s so iconic is disrespectful. The simple, clean suit combined with the awesome helmets is a big reason why Power Rangers blew up, and I don’t think if American audiences had been introduced with any other season’s suits, that the show would have been as iconic. Every time I see other suits I think to myself, “yeah, this worked because of the MMPR suits.”

I think, Goggle V helmets are often overlooked. They are the only ones with metal ornaments and jewelry, that actually look antique. There are others with metal ornaments, like Dairanger and Hurricanger, but they look more like plastic. I always call my grandma´s old silver forks the Goggle V cutlery. Dairanger have propably the most elegant suits ever. Here I think, the armor of the white ranger takes away from the elegance. I love Ohranger. Their simplicity, the visor shapes and gold accents are epic. From Megaranger to Timeranger, I have personal nostalgia for the suits.

10:14 I read in an article (sorry I forgot when and where) that the "5" on the Maskman suit was originally intended to be a "Fiveman" suit or symbol, hence the show's title was originally concepted as "Hikari Sentai FIVEMAN" but , for some reason, the "5" element was dropped and was replaced with "Mask" hence the official brand of MASKMAN. Fiveman, as we all know it, would be later used and seen in 1990.

I would've had Dekaranger higher in my list just on how professional and uniform looking their suits are I think Ryusoulger would have benefitted from having a silver shoulder piece in addition to the silver arm Kyoryuger, I think would have loved more balanced by adding yellow trims on the lower garment Megaranger, I would have to lower its placement because of the horizontal piece with different colored squares, it throws the rest of the suit off Kakuranger, I can respect the placement LuPat, when considered together would wish Patranger had more dominant white colors equal to Lupinranger's dominant black Gaoranger, I want to place it higher among animal and dinosaur teams, felt like the suit had perfect balance and simplicity

Flashman and GoGoV let the actual actors wore costume & helmet without visors. Goenger has the most number of helmetless scenes which the actual actors wore costume more often than other Sentai.

to support a lupin ranger a bit more (cause I feel you missed out some aspects of their design and personally they're my fav design for its simplicity yet speaking a lot to the modern design ideals of Arsene Lupin.) The pop collar on the cape helps pull together the whole "phantom thief" design. The top hat design also melds into a mask (similar to how the ranger's civilian forms would sometimes wear them on missions" Their belt buckle is a steel safe. The way the arms are segment off and in color give the "caught red handed" type of vibe, not to mention how skin tight they are compared to the usual sentai gloves giving more of that "thief" aesthetic. Their areas of color vs areas of black mostly are the reverse of what patoranger uses. Its a simple design given how much they had to reflect on patoranger and vice versa and I think that should've been given a bit more of a mention.

I am surprised that both Maskman and Turborangers wasn’t in the top 20-10s. As they where both linked in you placing. When it was in development, Maskman was actually proposed as Fiveman?!?!. And yes the symbol in their chest is a Superman shaped 5. Also the proposed suit design is Battle Fever J inspired as the very first 6th member X-1 Mask is a shadow of the planning of Maskman. Also to add Car Themed Sentai(oh god) must be fully a 4 wheeler. And currently there are 4 series to boot: Turborangers, Carrangers, Go-Ongers and now Boomboongers. Though Go-On and BoonBoom(animal and Wheels) have an added twist they still have Cars to complement their mechas and the 5 Cormier that is based on. Dekarangers, Boukengers and Kirameigers are actually VEHICLE based only on the helmets as hovercrafts, airplanes and boats are in the roster and the three primary basis are Police, treasure hunting and Crystals are what they are. Nothing too nitpicking but I enjoy hearing your placing. And enjoy your contents and hard work in these vids.

I respect everybody’s opinions but Shinkenger and Gokaiger are peak modern sentai, my favorite ever is Dairanger though, it’s just the right balance of white with the main colors Edit: I also forgot shout-outs to Ohranger and Go-Ranger as other pretty cool suits theatre unique, and I think battle fever J was sentai 2? If not then I also love the second sentai, based on cards with the extra hero being Biguu One

Its MASKMAN. The earrings I don't mind. I'd wish their arms were colored as the rest of their body suits but that's it. Almost perfect. They look like the embodiment of speed, smooth and slick as hell, like those hood ornaments in front of 1950s cars. That's what I picture in my head when I think about how to define Super Sentai: guys with matching helmets and color coded spandex doing martial arts at the ultimate speed.

So, one of the reasons why Ms. America's suit looks so weird is because she's actually kind of a Marvel character. This was around the time Marvel was licensing out their characters to Toei, with the tokusatsu series they did with Spider-Man being one of the more notable results of that partnership. Ms. America was another. She was a relatively C-list Marvel hero at the time, with only the latest person to hold the mantle, America Chavez, being really well known nowadays, to the point that she was in the MCU.

Was it just me that thought the helmets of Dekaranger / PR SPD made them look like a villain team? There is something ominous about the sleaked back pointy part of the visor that always made me think these helmets would have fit great on a villain ranger team.

Also the way the visors resemble the visor of KR Kiva or even Venom's eyes makes it look kinda evil as well IMO

Honestly I feel kyuuger is the best in my opinion, up until the Orion form. I feel they could have done that one a bit better, especially the helmet.

Aside from Toq 6, those might not be hazard line, but train lines, some maps do have do have lines in a similar pattern to what is on the suit.

Personally, for me the Hurricaneger is the best, the armor-like sleeves, each ranger has their own element emblem, the color choices for costumes (the light/dark blue, burgundy red),.. Top notch

Without refreshing my memory, I'm very partial to the Goranger suits, along with Dekaranger, Go-Onger, and the ToQger suits. The number motifs are really cool, and suits with lips are kind of lame imo. Also, material and finish really matter.

The Zyuohger suits are in a weird spot for me. I actually really like the helmets but the suits are just...bad. It's just the rangers' respective animals plastered onto them with no thought or creativity behind it. I really like the King-Ohger suits overall but one thing I don't like is how with the exception of Spider Kumonos, they're all just one color. Could've at least had some accents on them. The capes, the bug-shaped visors and the emblems of the rangers' kingdoms on the chestplate are what save them for me.

Jetman has the best Sentai spandex design for me also on the mech design. But Gingaman spandex design is totally iconic and easily recognizable

If I remember correctly, Battle Fever J's suits are supposed to actually be real forms rather than suits over the humans. The manga shows it a lot better, but the helmets are their actual faces.

Magi ranger is definitely one of my top favorites, but honestly thease all are verry readable as apart of the series.
