As much as I do enjoy the Morbius memes* this is a pretty great video lol. It really does feel like a bunch of people just saying random things for the sake of being random. I enjoy them, but I also accept that I like some pretty dumb things sometimes. Other than disruptiveness of people being loud, throwing stuff, etc. I feel like these trends are really showing the movie industry that if what they make isn’t truly appealing it won’t succeed. Morbius flopped because it was bad so people made fun of it, Minions is doing well because people genuinely have a connection to it so they’re finding ways to hype it up. They play off similarly but one is truly ironic, while the other is finding ways to build up support for a film in a way younger audiences relate to. Again, the disruptive groups who throw stuff or are loud are negative for audiences in general, but those who simply have shown up to Minions in suits and sat down and enjoyed it are symbolic of how grassroots support of something matters more than what corporations try to push.
