Matt’s video with Try Guys was actually entertaining and you could tell both that Matt was having a good time and that they actually genuinely tried. They barely talked and were just eating as fast as they could. I’m not a fan of try guys but still loved and sat through that whole video. I recommend people watch that. That is exactly what this collaboration should have been, instead it was just obnoxious elementary school humor. Which I guess yeah, it’s aimed towards kids. But I still don’t see why that’s okay. Being obnoxious and annoying in children’s content teaches those kids to be obnoxious and annoying.

I live in Hawaii and met Matt and his brother at a restaurant/bar. I totally know it's not always appropriate to walk up to "celebrities" when they're eating, but I just wanted to say hello as I've been watching him for years, long before his current fame. He was the kindest guy ever, and his brother even took a photo for us. Matt could have totally told me to screw off and he wouldn't have been wrong, because I was impeding on his dinner. But he was a totally awesome person about it and I'll never forget that.

I've seen Rosanna in other content and she's always so nice and professional (at least in what makes it in to those videos-- I realize editing can do a lot). I'm wondering if there might have been an element of women feeling like there's a taboo around stuffing their faces on the internet, because they already get hate comments about their looks etc? I feel like at least part of it was probably a director telling them to keep cracking jokes too. Either way, that was hard to watch and Matt deserved better.

This reminds me of a high school project i did my senior year. I always have loved magic the gathering and the topic had to be something we actually liked, so I wanted to make it about magic the gathering. I presented the project to a panel of teachers, who, were not magic fans and not interested at all. I had issues coming up with the presentation because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and so thusly it just kinda had information. I pretty much got laughed out of the room and I wanted to cry because this was something I liked so much that they wanted me to present and to show my interaction with. But instead I got treated like an idiot and lazy/gamer. The energy was very much the same which comprised of jokes and showing a lack of empathy with my passions. It made me want to quit magic the gathering because it was obviously such a horrible thing. People should learn compassion and empathy for the things people enjoy. Treating peoples hobbies or livelihoods as a joke is just Plain disrespect.
