I swear this damn theme has been haunting me for years. Every time I would try to search it up (roadrunner theme, roadrunner music, song that plays when roadrunner runs, roadrunner classical music, etc) it would always just come up with the theme from the Roadrunner show. FINALLY, I’ve found it.

"I think, seven's too little of a count for Road-Runner cartoons" I've watched the classic Road Runner cartoons countless times, and I can't remember this song being used in any other RR cartoons than what's already listed (that is, if we take into account only the cartoons that were released in or before the 60s)
@rolandds59387 ай бұрын
Actually, one came to mind, although it might not count as it might be just a coincidence that a very short bit of the score of "Wild About Hurry" (during the grenade & magnet scene) kinda sounds like this song. I'm referring to the scene with the grenade and magnet right after the RR starts eating the seed. Also what I'm sure about, there's one more usage in Fast and Furry-ous, earlier in the same gag as 5:04, a slower version while Wile E. is looking at the plan.

I was listening to classical music on the radio and heard the dance of the comedians and couldn't figure out why it sounded so familiar. Now I know why😅😂

The music, by Bedřich Smetana, is actually not German nor even Austrian, but Czech in origin, though long popular among Teutonic audiences. I wonder if Stalling knew that Hindenburg (and, indeed, most of the general staff) despised Hitler and called him „der böhmische Gefreiter“ = “the Bohemian PFC” behind his back. Bohemia was, of course, the old name for Czechia; I wonder if Stalling used the piece as an extra little fillip against Adolf as not being „echt deutsch“.

The segue from "Comedians" to "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" for the chase around the cloverleaf might be my favorite piece of music from the entire series. I want to think the musicians loved all of these weird challenges from Stallings.

It's strange to see these themes (like Foghorn Leghorn's Camptown Races) in different types of cartoons in the 40s. They got more focused in the 50s.
