Vader can survive without his helmet by pulling on the dark side as any sith can, Maul, Malak, Sion, Starkiller and many others have done this. Vader wears the helmet to help him of course but he also wears it to further strip his Anakin identity away.

I feel like it adds even more to his tragedy though if he literally *can't* remove it without dying. The dark side keeping him alive is definitely a good point though as that's how he survived from Mustafar in the first place.

Kenobi is canon whether you consider it to be or not though lmao. Doesn’t take away its legitimacy.

It is part of the Disney Canon yes. If that's what you choose to value than I would definitely agree. However, personally, I don't see how it works with Episodes 1-6 which is why for me at least I think of it separately.

@@DaBlueBountyHunter How does it not work, I always see this argument yet no one explains, it didn’t “ruin” anything like people claims, nor did it contradict anything. If anything these new stories are way less contradictory than most of the stuff from legends. To each their own though ldk…

@jamariojackson4289 I simply think that the interactions between Vader and Obi-Wan in A New Hope feel more natural when the last time they met was in Revenge of the Sith. + it adds more weight if it's been that long. Also (while they did a good job explaining in the show) I still don't buy Obi-Wan leaving Luke on Tatooine. I respect your opinion if you prefer Kenobi as part of the story, though.

@@DaBlueBountyHunter But without the context of Kenobi, Vader saying: “Obi-Wan once thought as you do” to Luke makes no sense. Obviously it’s not referring to RoTS because by the end of the movie Kenobi gave up, and left him for dead. So when and where would Kenobi still think there’s hope to save Vader? IMO the Kenobi show answers that perfectly. No offense but that’s also not the best excuse to say it do what fit in, the present danger wasn’t on Tatooine, it was off-world. Luke at the current point in time until Reva is introduced is relatively safe. Obi-Wan was also very reluctant about leaving Tatooine and revealing himself for any reason. It’s only when Bail had to show up in person and literally beg him to help did he even start considering helping. Also just as Bail said Leia is ultimately just not if not more important than Luke in the grand scheme of the future, Obi-Wan wasn’t going to abandon her. I see people make the same arguments you make, but tbh I fail to believe they watched the same show or actually paid attention. I personally don’t see how it interferes with anything from current cannon, Ik it’s the cool new thing for people to hate on Disney, but the hype train has kinda ran out by now. I respect your opinions though, not calling you a hater. But also I just have to support the evidence I made against your claims. In no way did the Kenobi show hurt or contradict any canon, it only enhanced it imo.

@jamariojackson4289 I can see your POV better now after reading this. I do feel like Obi-Wan did still see good in Anakin on Mustafar like when he says "I have failed you Anakin, I have failed you". To me I always perceived that as him saying it's his fault and he is sorry in a way which means he's less mad at Ani.
