Love it. Wish u would've added the drama of last year's usdgc and scoring. Paul played to 50+ feet away on 17 because udisc had incorrect scores, showing him winning by 1. He was told about the score mixup otw to that putt on 17, drains it, and goes nuts. That clutch putt straight into adversities face is what still gives me chills watching that usdgc.

I had already been playing for 10yrs, and was “hooked” at that point. But, getting to watch Paul throw the best collective year of disc golf in 2015, was in my opinion “the perfect time” to become OBSESSED with disc golf

Now I know I'm not the only one seeing this, but after watching this video and seeing the pattern, this is the reason why Ricky doesn't really like McBeth in a way that he wouldn't want to befriend/hangout with McBeth outside of discgolf. I mean sure yeah Ricky will show sportsmanship by fist bumping McBeth before the start of a tournament and that'll be the ONLY interaction, but do you guys ever notice those 2 don't ever interact with each other out on the discgolf course when they're on the same card even to this day, ever since the rivalry became a thing in the early 2010s. For example a card like Garret Gurthie, Kevin Jones, Ricky Wysocki, Paul McBeth...Ricky and Paul would ONLY interact with the other 2 (Garret & Kevin) but never talk to each other and/or joke about things with each other as they walk to the next hole. Both Ricky and McBeth would only walk along with either of the other 2 (Garret or Kevin), but never Ricky and McBeth walking side by side. So base off on this video it sounds like to me it's Ricky that holds on to that grudge against McBeth, whereas McBeth would want to be cool with Ricky, but unfortunately that probably won't ever happen...which makes a whole lot of sense given McBeth did win the big majors in the past, taking it away from Ricky.

Climo played when most of his opponents were surfer boys throwing frisbees found on some desolate beach. McBeth has seen the game evolve from drunken college kids wandering aimlessly around to professional athletes testing disc aerodynamics in wind tunnels and managed to evolve with it, which makes him the ultimate disc golfer of all ages.

I enjoy your videos I watch them all the time but there’s no real way to prove who was the greatest of all time Macbeth Clymo , Brady or Montano Kobe or Jordan because play styles change products change the disc golf disc are improving all the time with new plastic’s young people will say McBeth older people would say Climo. Is Paul the best in his era in my opinion 2nd place is so far behind PM it’s not worth talking about.
@DarttheLegend2 жыл бұрын
I love how this showcased how awful the coverage of 2021 USDGC was lol. To answer your question near the end of the video, I am able to say McBeth isn't the best of all time because I was there watching Ken Climo throughout his career, I've watched Paul's career too and he's one of the greats. If Climo's entire career was easy to watch on youtube there would be no debate, everyone would agree it was him. Younger disc golfers like yourself truly believe McBeth is because of the fact you can't imagine seeing a better player, which is understandable from your perspective. It's also the recency effect and the same reason people think Tiger woods is the greatest of all time even though he will never come close to Jack Nicklaus.

Climo was playing against people with day jobs. Prime mcbeth would absolutely smoke prime climo.
@DarttheLegend2 жыл бұрын
@@dabongrippa7093 Climo HAD a full-time Day Job, and still managed to achieve all nhe did, place Climo in this era and he's even MORE dominant because he could spend all his time playing disc golf instead of just the weekends.
@ryancockrel69472 жыл бұрын
I have seen Climo play in person, and there is actually plenty of video watching him play in the early 2000's. Absolutely no way in a thousand years would he have been able to compete in today's era of disc golf. He might have worked a day job, but he was more "professional" than anyone else he was playing against. Many of the people who he beat on the lead card final round at Worlds would not even be able to qualify for USDGC these days. If Climo was in his absolute prime with modern plastic and no other distractions, he would be a pretty decent pro player who would be in the converation for a win once or twice a year.
@DarttheLegend2 жыл бұрын
@@ryancockrel6947 Barry Shultz literally qualifies for USDGC every year, even though he’s no longer in his prime. Your statement is literally prove-ably wrong.
@ryancockrel69472 жыл бұрын
@@DarttheLegend Barry Shultz is an obvious exception. Barry wasn't even in the picture for many of Climos "big wins." IF Climos didn't exist, Barry would probably have like 10 Worlds titles, and everyone would be saying he's the best ever.

@@templetonbob Look at the people he was winning worlds against. Those people who were "final round lead card" wouldn't even be able to qualify to play USDGC these days. He was playing against basically local pros. If Climo was in his prime today he would be a mid-range pro who occasionally made a run at a win.
@templetonbob2 жыл бұрын
@@ryancockrel6947 Based on that reasoning, if McBeth played in the 90s he wouldn’t be as good just because of who he was playing against. How many strokes would Climo have to win by to get credit for his play? 36 strokes?
@ryancockrel69472 жыл бұрын
@@templetonbob Of course he would still be as good, but using his wins as a stat would be less meaningful because wins would be so much easier to come by in that era.
