I think it looked amazing in Oni Trilogy and S2-S5. I like how it looked in Dragons Rising but now the Ninja just use their powers as projectiles. Like Lloyd used to use it as a shield bro that was so cool.

The replies above me are correct but they didn't mention that he has aspects of the 4 elements incorporated into his powers. (Green Flames, Green Electricity, Super strength in DotD. He can't use the elements like he did in season 2 but you are technically right that he somehow forgot about these abilities

Because he no longer can. In season 3 he gives those powers back to the ninja and in doing so means he can no longer control them
