9:48 I do have a basic idea of what this crash message means. This means that it failed to look up a memory address when it tried to store data. TLB exceptions are a thing you can do where you can reserve some place in memory for a specific set of data, as in you can map data to a specific spot in RAM. This attempts to write to a spot in memory that is invalid, causing a crash. A crash of the same type exists in paper mario, where if you collect a letter from a tree in Shiver Snowfield before it hits the ground, a crash with the same message appears. This is because the game uses an invisible penguin to guide the envelope’s trajectory. The penguin constantly updates the item’s position with its own until it despawns. Since you collected the letter before it despawns, it throws up a TLB Exception On Store error, as it is writing data to a spot that no longer exists.

so basically, M just deletes Mario and the game is trying to look up the model of Mario since it's still in use in the scene, but cannot find it so it's just straight to the crash

My guess is that the flowers floating above the ground is direct, physical reference to the phrase "Pushing up daisies", which literally means 'to be dead and buried'. The concept being the 'daisies' begin to grow above your grave. In that context, the arrows pointing into the ground are self-explanatory.

Actually, it turns out that the flowers were meant to connect to a sequel ROM Hack to this one, but the author just lost interest in SM64 hacks entirely and scrapped the project.

2:51 i just realized before it said “Collect the star.” Now it says “Get the star.”

Several things to note is that when the game loads up the second time, outside of the lack of wind and the waterfall shutting off, the windows have disappeared. When loading the third time, other than the stained glass window disappearing and the birdsong dying away, the fences by the bridge have vanished. When loading the game the 4th time, several textures around the castle and unique features are corrupted or missing, including several features of the castle. Also, after entering Bob-bom Battlefield the 3rd time, all the fences and the iron bars around the level have disappeared and the bridge that normally tilts as Mario walks over it no longer does so. Plus, when you enter the 4th time, all the rocks and signs have disappeared as well.

In the "everything is better without you" scene, not only is the sign missing but the waterfall is also gone. I don't know if it's intentional implying the statement is wrong, or just a mistake

this video is great, though ive never been a very big fan of sm64 since i wasnt born at the time it was released, its still something that catches my eye every once in awhile, still being a great game, and this video just peaks my interest of the community and the game itself, this video is very well made and totally underrated as hell, i wish the best of luck for your success

i think the reason the signpost is missing is because Mario is nowhere to be found, so naturally Bowser (or whoever wrote the sign, i don't remember anymore) would have no one to leave messages to. Also apparently there are multiple endings to this romhack, but i never heard anyone talk about them

I think that when the game restarts. They load a different area, Not the same area. So the rom hack creator. Created different versions of both bob-omb battle field. And peach's castle. And different versions load depending on the star count. Just like the final game. Where theres two or three versions of a level. For example. Whomps Fortress. After defeating Whomp King. And the tower appears in the next version. So that might be how SM64.z64 works. But. Thats just my theory.

M is canonically a malevonet entity that seeks to harm the player. When M is existent in the game, it slowly makes the world more simplistic, which is why Bob Omb Battlefield becomes more "deteriorated".
