I can't take wonka's rating of 8/10 seriously. Origin movies tend to suck unless they do something amazing with it. Wonka did not do anything amazing. The musical aspect was dull and soulless, the side characters were bland and one sided, and the villains were interesting at the most, but ultimately fell flat because it leaned too far into the bribery.
