I’ve been thinking about the giant triangle just to get the longest reference lines possible. However, everything he showed here either I already can do with tools I have or I’ve never needed to do. I don’t understand using extra guides if you have a precise set of holes in your MFT top.

I am so glad that TSO is supporting the Kreg plunge saw. Back when COVID first shut everything down, I needed a track saw for a remodeling project. At the time, the only saw in stock in my area was the Kreg. It works very well and I'm happy with it. But, one of my regrets about the saw is that there is very little third-party accessories available for it. The Kreg accessories work, but they are more fiddlely than they need to be and can be difficult to work with.

Everyone in the comments is mad that this is basically an ad for TSO. Don’t act like you wouldn’t do this exact same thing if they wanted to sponsor you. It’s not anything that every other successful KZbin woodworker doesn’t do. All you have to do is not purchase no need to be angry at the guy for getting his sponsorship. You all sound so jealous.

You oversimplify the negative reactions into just one cause. There are probably several points of contention. Personally, I object only to the blatant and insulting click bait title which demeans what is usually high quality content from this contributor. People can't talk about what they will never own, for whatever reason.

There are three flavors of kool aid Red Blue and Green. I love all three. Red = Woodpeckers, Green= Festool and Blue=TSO . I have the full size version and when I tell people how much it cost they about choke. For me I was able to make room in my shop by unloading my miter saw which I really didnt use all that much. With the TSO system I am able to dial up angles with out my miter saw. Oh real quick I noticed you are using the bench dog fence they sell a special dog that has a flat edge to it to support the part of the fence that goes under your track I have it and it makes it a lot more robust. Well thank you for posting your videos I love them .

Just bought this 2 weeks ago and now returning it. Despite being so expensive, I really wanted to love it for how precise and practical it would be. The triangle itself seems square, same as the alignment of the holes for pins and dogs, but the protractor markings are off. TSO customer support was quick, but wouldn't recognize the issue. Very disappointed.

Everybody doing something in a systainer with small parts needs a "small parts container'. Many of my systainer items end up coming out of the systainer because I don't feel like they hold the odds and ends well. I think this was a great bit of coverage on this tool. I had been hesitant on this one even though I'm very happy with my TSO tools because I didn't have a feel for why it wasn't just another triangle. As much as I love good triangles, they're big expenses. Now that I see this, this will actually perform many tasks for me on the MFT. For example, I don't have a good tool for doing mitered cuts on the MFT track and this will help. I don't use a fence at all with the track saw on the MFT using parf dogs as a wall and TSO TDS dog stops for repeatable cuts and a square like this could perform the same task as the dogs in many cases. Honestly, I'd love to have a setup where nothing is permanently attached to the MFT surfaces, but the Dashboard hinge is so reliable I haven't found a way to replace it. For example, I've tried the UJK Dog Rail clips or Adjustable Height Guide Rail dogs, but I find for single cuts they slow down setup compared to using the Dashboard and the Rail clips cut parallel right down saw holes. They're better if you're using a smaller, easier to move piece of guide rail.

The miter gauge alignment procedure shown starting at 9:25 in the video is not accurate. Miter gauges should be aligned with the face/fence to the bar, not to the blade. As shown in the video, any misalignment between the blade and miter slots will manifest itself in the accuracy of the angle. Think about using a miter gauge on a router table or bandsaw - you wouldn't think of aligning to the router bit or bandsaw blade, yet you can get accurate cuts if you align the miter face/fence to the miter bar.

One thing I can't seem to understand is whether the TSO parallel guides can attach to the MTR - X when it's set to 90 degrees? I want to spend the extra money to have this for a square and also to cut angles but if I can't attach the parallel guides to cut square edges repeatedly at same lengths for a shelf/cabinet then I may have to go with the GR-16.

I have been eyeing this for a good while now. Thank you for demonstrating the track saw capabilities. I’m still hesitant to drop the money on it, though. If they inset the pin holes and angle gauge with steel and put detents to hold the setting, I would definitely buy.

US$315 plus shipping. No case. Ok then. The dog holes on MFT are already set up for perfect 90 and 45 - you don't need extra tools to lay out those cuts perfectly 100% of the time.

Guy, that would depend on the cost of each. This square can do the same thing as the guide rail square with a few more functional uses. Do you have a MFT or track saw? Do you have other woodworking machines that a square fence to table is needed? I replaced my original Festool track brackets on the mft due to slop when squaring for cuts, with a dashboard system for the mft that came with mft table to track square for squaring the table and track. TSO make excellent products, but the cost is out there like Woodpecker products. In the end it is your wallet that the money comes out of.
