I think a used bushtec is a great value. Thank you for such informative video.

My understanding from CanAm is if you tow, anything other than the Freedom trailer it voids your warranty on the Spyder.

You’re probably right. They want you to buy their stuff for sure. 💵💸💰

@@CoachBob3 read that you 100% have to use their hitch & wiring harness or that voids it. Still looking into the trailer type. I'll contact BRP and let you know what I find out.

I know this is an old video but if your still looking for a trailer you can't go wrong with the freedom trailer from Can Am. I just did a 1200 mile round trip with mine behind my 2021 f3 and can honestly say the only way I knew it was back there was my mirrors.
@JasonWheeler-l4b8 ай бұрын
I would like to see and possibly purchase a Freedom trailer. However, BRP / Can-Am stopped producing them in 2019 and the 4 dealers I have spoken with in New England have not been of any help finding one new or used. Graigs List has not shown any and FB Market place only came up with a possibility in Hawaii.😞

When I get a trailer I plan on putting on Solar Panel to charge stuff like my Ham radio kit.

I have been a new prescriber come pared some of you, but I have never seen him not reply to a post or an email ever, even his two sons do the same thing! One of main websites that do that! That is rare! But on website you do not have to worry about it! It may take him some time to respond, but he does.

I have an all aluminum trailer i built on a 40"×48" frame. Built it years ago went I had access to a fab shop. Fully carpeted. Very light. Pulled like a dream, didn't know it was behind the Wing. Haven't used it in a long time. Going to clean it up, put new tires on it and sell it. Guess it's time to downsize and get rid of stuff taking up room. Let somebody else enjoy it. Great informative video.

Good video excellent information on a trailers. How does the gas mileage do for you with your pulling it. do you keep a spare tire with it. 🏍🏍🏍
@CoachBob33 жыл бұрын
I don’t do a spare tire. I have a patch kit and small battery compressor. The mileage doesn’t seem to be affected really. When we ride two up and the bags loaded....we get 28-29 mpg. The same holds true when the trailer is on and loaded. 👍👍👍😎😎😎

I have the Blackhawk trailer. I used the brp. Hitch and harness. The harness will not supply power on my sea to sky, so I got one from Pierre.

I have to be honest. I gave it a watch and a thumbs up but was not terribly interested in trailers. Good info but not on my list of needs. But always enjoy your vids because of the effort and research you obviously put into it.

Thanks for the encouragement. I must say... 18 months ago. It wouldn’t have interested me either. Once Vic got on board. Everything changed. I appreciate ya watching. 👍👍👍🏍🏍🏍

Good information I have been looking for a simple trailer to carry camping supplies, off subject if you could do a quick review of shifting the Can AM that would be helpful, I see folks roll off the throttle when shifting, is this necessary, also what rpm is proper to shift at, I have been shifting at 3200, not sure if this is too soon, finally when I slow down and rpm drops down around 2000 should I downshift to bring the rpm higher. As always thanks for your efforts

I will definitely put together a video on shifting I. The next two weeks. Thank you for the suggestion. 👍👍👍🏍🏍🏍

Had an RT-622 trailer with my 2011 RTS. Traded in both for my 2016 RTS. Looked at multiple trailers but went with the Freedom trailer. Consider the latter of less quality than the 622. I use it for long trips carrying camping equipment. I stayed with the Freedom trailer, BRP hitch and harness because I wanted to stay with the BRP product line for interoperability. I got a spare tire and cover for below list. I also got the cargo insert (plastic and not carpeted) so I did not have to do it myself. $ vs. time.

Good video,the trailers are way beyond my budget price wise I'm thinking of building one using a harbor freight 40"by 48" trailer using a car cargo carrier.My spyder RTL is already set up with a harness from Pierre and a show chrome hitch.

Go with a bike sized frame from a spyder minded manufacturer.

Coach Bob, I did a lot of research and really wanted the Bushtec but when I contacted them about the wiring harness they advised that they were working on something for the 2020 RTL but did not have it yet. I then watched your video and John&Miriam video and decided to just get the Freedom trailer. You have had great success with it and I know John has to. I am like you, I have the BRP hitch, BRP wiring harness, and now the Freedom trailer which I will pick up next week. I just know that they were designed to all work together and that gives me peace of mind. Thank you again for all your videos, I have really enjoyed them.

Coach bob! Thanks for your videos! Just a thought! In many ways the high end trailers are also very affordable as a cheaper entry level version! Let me explain! There are so many trailers out there people buy and then they get a different motorcycle that don't match the color! So then they buy another new trailer! Then you can get these slightly used custom trailers for sale 30 to 40 cents on the dollar of what new would go for! For me! I bought a Honda Goldwing that came with a trailer! And it is nothing more than a harbor freight equivalent trailer frame with a clam shell car top carrier attached with running lights! Northern tools sells them already put together for not much more than what it would cost to build it yourself! I have traveled with this trailer and it is so light that it allows me to load it down with more weight! I have a friend that picked a four year old trailer that would go for $5,000.00 paid $1800.00 for it. There are a lot of people out there that have more money than sense that you can take advantage of! Just a thought to stretch your dollar!!!

I, like you, have the previous model RTL, 2018, and like you, opted for the BRP trailer, hitch and harness. Though I still haven't ridden as far as you (Florida trip is on hold), I've made enough long trips to wholeheartedly endorse going BRP. Face it, if you are serious about a trailer and ready to pull the trigger, why not go OEM? I got mine from my local Yamaha dealer (go figure). I'm very happy, found no tracking problems, holds everything I need ((Freedom trailer). Air ride(?), what are we carrying, eggs..? I have considered a rack of some sort on the lid of the trailer, as some advertise, but the easy access to the trailer would certainly be compromised. However, I can see where that might work for you and Coach Vick with her wheelchair... Too late for Florida, so I guess we'll do the four great-grands up in Washington this spring. Won't put Canada on the agenda but definitely stow the passports, just in case. Great video..!
@spyder_673 жыл бұрын
I watched your video on buying the Freedom trailer here in Australia. I use a similar wheelchair to Vick. I am lucky enough I can use two canes to walk a little bit. After watching that video a Freedom trailer became for sale in Oz. I was told by the owner there is only 7 in Oz, but I have never seen another here. Our design regs are different to the USA and they need major mods to meet our regs. My chair is a bit bigger than Vick's , but fits in slightly different. I have done a few multi-day trips using the Freedom. Heavily locked down the last 12 months in Oz. I will get a video/photos next trip in June and will post them and tag you. Big 15 day trip of 5000 km (3200 miles) in August doing a lap of the state of QLD. See map here: www.google.com.au/maps/d/edit?mid=1kHdjrO6MvLRA009a3yq864VqUbUWqbXu&usp=sharing
