I play warthunder after they added 16v16 in air rb top tier is just trash and impossible to be situationlly aware because every plane has 6-8 missles .+ war thunder top tier is not that skillful i can get someone on a mig29 smt and him just firing his missles mindlessly would probally get him 2 kills

Its hard because your target has to be flying slow. If you want gun kills slow down and take your time. You will most likely rage a lot as the guns are inaccurate and it takes a lot of bullets

Try to use the mouse. It really helps. Also, don't rush. Try to slow down and make sure you are not too far from the enemy. Then don't just wait, and fire immediately.

To be honest, getting a kill with a gun is near to impossible. It would require the correct angle, the correct airspeed of both you and your opponent and a ton of luck. Cause the shots are hella inaccurate. I actually got a gun kill twice, One while I was still on the carrier and some dumbass had turned on PVP and went afk so I got the chance to shoot him. The second one was of pure luck. I don't know if you watched the movie Top Gun Maverick but during the training scene one of the pilots flies upside-down on top of the other plane, but , in my case (I'm the pilot flying upside-down) Instead of flying with the the pilot to the same direction, I was flying towards him. So when we got close to the point where my Vertical Stabilizer almost hit the other aircraft, out of pure luck I managed pull my nose down at the right time and hit him with a few shots. I was flying at 400 at the time because I had tried to do the Kvochur Bell maneuver (Its basically just pulling your nose, entering a stall state and hitting either left or right righter at an airspeed of 300 or less) in which you bleed a lot of speed. And in the brief moment where I shot him I was able to make out that the other plane had it's airbrakes extended, so I'm pretty sure he was was flying at a low airspeed aswell which essentially gave me the chance to pull my nose.

The aim120s are designed for long range. So if you press U and lock on to a jet it will most likely hit.
