FYI, the models you see flying with generic/robotic-looking names are AI following real air traffic movements, basically. They're not going to react to you. Also in the options, you can turn off that proximity fading.

I tried practicing formation flying with airliners in MSFS using the F22, but people took that as an insult and disconnected or banked hard to get away.

When playing online, microsoft flight simulator uses livestreamed ATC data to simulate real time air traffic conditions. Only online players might react to you buzzing them. The real pilots flying in real life dont know that youre there in a simulator checking them out. It would be pretty F'ing cool if augmented reality and VR tech could be introduced into Microsoft flight simulator for spectator's to go outside and watch people flying around in the sky on the simulator or if they are on a flight and are bored. Something like this could be a feature. Though i dont recommend using it while driving lol If people on a flight next to a window use augmented reality or VR to observe Microsoft flight sim data, it would be cool if the game would advertise an interest of entertainment or for some action as an observer and players could take the challenge and get feedback from the observers perspective and it would be a good time for both people.

MSFS2020: F-18 escorting airliner is uncommon and special. SimplePlanes Multiplayer: Your F-18 is outran by an airliner going Mach 3 because they're so tired of being escorted every day

The fact that plane models and liveries don’t load is one of the worst things of the simulator

B) The 'disappearing' you see where the model sort of slowly phases out is literally an option you can toggle in-game to allow you to now let your own flight be disrupted by trolling players. The game isn't in error if you happen to be not understand how it works.

Yea.. If I'm not mistaken, The f18 block 3 cannot lower landing gear without engine power(in the normal way)... But there should be an emergency landing gear lowering lever for such events on the right hand side of the pilots seat.

I used to do this a lot more but not as often anymore. I usually have someone intercept me who is flying the same aircraft as me, I only fly the F-22, F-15, F-18, and the MIG Fulcrum. Also I think the people with bot like names like A280 that just fly like bots are actually just AI. You can usually tell who's a real player by their name and the way they fly.
