Having the Orb flush with the wall so pushing enemies are forced to take a blind 2 way angle is also important. You need to decide whether the ability to push them through it, or shut them down as they try to push in is more important. Also for the wall shown at the end, its nearly impossible to get it so the upper area does not have a gap on one side, both, or leaves it uncovered, since unlike Harbour, you cannot curve the wall to be flush with it AND also block off the Snowman and Orange angles at the same time.

These are very good tips. I don’t play a lot of viper personally(omen main basically) but it frustrates me greatly when I see vipers or smokers give free space to the enemies by walling or Smoking off bad angles or large open areas. So advice like this is really helpful being shared!

Sometimes I actually make the smoke poke out onto site intentionally to give myself more cover and decrease the chances of them being able to check the corner im playing in as they come out onto site. Try it, place a shallow smoke and play on the other side of where the enemy usually comes out from. They'd have to turn their backs to the site to check your corner and you'd be behind them as they're coming out on site.

Ok weirdly enough i know this trick from a while ago, we used the bad vipe wall on b icebox to make someone peak tower and have my whole team watch it and get a free pick, we would only use this trick once or twice

Actually the diagonal wall on B is terrible anyway, re orient it across Orange so you can get proper site control and win the round easily, instead of stuffed back in B main for the whole postplant.

Oh yeah I do the same thing with Astra, place the smokes more towards them, that way they have no room to come on to site THROUGH the smoke because you’re using that technique yourself on them👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The Viper Wall with Open heaven is way better, bc zhey enemy cant Spray u through the smoke without getting traded safely. With the Wall Up, they can Just use free util or Spray without beiing Seen.

The wall on icebox is kinda bad bcs you leave space for them staying right next to default behint the wall without decaying and they also have the advantage to swing without taking damage and also having clear vision if you do the wall right at the edge of default it would be much better it could lead to noc compleatly smoking of haven but it is still better in my opinion

with the orb one, would it not be better to cover the entire choke point all the way to that crossfire angle? reason being that, in low elo, let’s be honest map control means essentially nothing since people just 4/5 man everything. I feel like putting an org for holding crossfire would be a lot better. Feel like this orb lets the enemy pop out, take a shot or scout, then hide in the smoke since it’s so deep.

Speaking from my perspective in my current rank (diamond 2) people need to understand more about the mechanics of viper, things like they shouldn't just pick viper because they watched a 30 second tik tok clip of some lineups; on a side note of tik tok lineups, for anyone following them STOP majority of the lineups I see require bouncing off a wall rather than going straight onto the bomb at a downwards angle this is BAD because any higher level sage players will notice this and just wall it off. Also, for the love of God stop saving all your utility for post plant... Yes, viper had incredibly an strong kit for post plant but that's only if you get the bomb down. If an enemy is in a corner just chuck a molly down, it forces them out the corner and makes them vulnerable. Use your molly to stop enemies peaking choke points when you're entering a site, use your orb as more than just a decay tool... It can create incredible timings on enemies by using mechanics like the "swoop peek" which involves throwing it down and picking it up while the smoke is up and peeking off the drop of the orb. Similarly you can use your wall for the same thing, my favourite spot is breeze mid where I will ask my viper to run the wall through mid and put it up immediately, I push out and depending on the steps of enemies I position myself either behind mid pillar or just outside of the door and then ask my viper to drop the wall, enemies never expect it and I've gotten as many as 3 kills in the first 15 seconds of the round doing this. My peek rank is ascendant 1 and I've even seen ascendant 3 players making the same mistakes.

I heard some viper mains like the smoke a little in site as it counters full rushes. As viper you cn post left or right of smoke or even sit inside. Even if a jett or raze pushes in, they my very well not see you. Leading to many 3 for 1 trades.

This isn't just a viper tip. It's controllers in general. I can't tell you how many times I see people push their smoke so far up into chokes points. Push the damn thing as far back as possible without creating bad angles. It makes it harder for them to push through the smoke (specifically flash characters excluding breach) and gives you more space thus more time to react. Specifcally on ascent A site, you have a brim that'll smoke off the entrance. Stop. If you're throwing smokes because you hear them right after the round starts just throw your smoke deeper. You'll give yourselves more space, you'll create more angles they have to worry about, and they will have to waste a lot more util in order to deal with those new possibilities

its not about map control as much as it is about not giving the enemy walkout angles. a little bit of space is less impactful than setting up to make enemy pushes much harder

Well I am viper main(I make my own lineups and walls) and I already knew these tips but I'm b2 probably because my team doesn't know how to play around my smokes and I don't have any friends so I can't duo with someone. Even when I entry for my team (cause our reyna and jett want to push breeze mid with a SPECTRE and die) as viper and kill 3 people. I mostly get killed when I go to play my lineups, I can't even play other controllers like omen. I don't get the confidence when I play reyna, so can you make a video about entry fragging with viper in lower elos.
