I'm not sure the quote does a good job conveying the original premise, considering Hagrid says it's like "soccer". In muggle sports - ESPECIALLY in the UK, football is the sport. That doesn't mean there aren't hundreds of other sports, but football is the most important and most popular sport in the world. So if Hagrid says "it's our sport" and uses football as the comparison - it means that Quidditch is the most important sport, not the only sport

There are a few and I think they would have been cool in the stories, or future stories. Quodpot: Just like Quidditch, but this one packs firepower for some reason that came from America. You have the same type of antics, but this time, you place the Quod into the cup in the middle of the field before it exploded. Wizard Chess. Gobstones: Just like marbles, but you just sprayed by horrible smelling liquid. Exploding Snap Broom Racing: A simple standard of racing each other. Duelling, Shuntbump: A ancient game that existed in Devon that played by Children. It is a magical equivalent to jousting as you purposely knock your opponent off the broom with the last person standing being a winner. Mud-Ditch: A weird game where you get 'stuck in a mud' thanks to some charm and you use magical dice to get you out. The trick is, to move and use whichever the body part it lands on. first. Magical version of twister that leaves you dirty. Snitch Snatcher: board game type of thing Flying SeaHorse Fishing, Magical version of fishing Hippogriff Racing, Spot the Snargaluff, Gnome RACING, Dance Elf Championship,: Something that existed since 1926 that happens every year

I knew of the annual broom race of Sweden and as a Swede I was always wondering why they flew from Kopparberg to Arjeplog, why not have the start more south? But when I looked at the map and considered where muggles are living, it actually makes alot of sense to start in Kopparberg. I dunno the % exactly but around 70% of the muggles live at the imaginary line between Stockholm and Karlstad, and then south. Most of the area the race would fly over(not the line marked by the map because that are the muggle route) is actually flying over forrest and forrest and forrest and forrest. It would make sense that most of the swedish wizards live in this big areas where no muggles are living. Could it be because of spells? :O

It occurs to me that Quidditch is a profoundly non-magical sport on the part of the athletes. Yes the equipment itself is magical, but there's nothing stopping a muggle from playing if they have access. Imagine a squib, shunned by their family, becoming a world-class quidditch player. There's a great story to be had there. Edit: Thinking about it, the same could be said of every sport in this video except for Dueling and maybe StitchStock.

It has eleven players on broomsticks on each team, and they have to throw a Quaffle which has been charmed to explode down the field and get it into the cauldron at the end. I’ve always thought that there’s a lot that goes on at Hogwarts that we never see or are aware of because Harry is our Narrator. He only cares about quidditch and stopping the latest Voldemort plot. He only notices a couple other students, he’s not involved in any club or student activities because he just doesn’t care (although stopping Voldemort is very important so we can forgive him on that) There are plenty of clubs, school events, career recruitment events, solo lectures that we never see because Harry is oblivious

Growing up, there was a lake we went to and kids used to play a game called Pirate on the lake. They'd use these two person sailboats called Sunfish. One kid sailed the boat and his partner would try and tip over the other kids' boats. Kind of a Shunbump on water. We also had king of the mountain, which was usually played on a jungle jim or monkey bars. One kid is the king who'd be at the top, while the others climbed up to push him/her off. Of course he/she did the same to their attackers.

You missed one. The US has game called Quadpot based on quidditch with an exploding quaffle known as a quad. The game involves only chasers. Two teams attemp to score by putting the ball into a pot of potion that prevents it from exploding. A team which does this gets a point and a new ball is brought out. The game is allegory for American football since it's a game loosely based on quiditch only popular in the US, Canada, and other new world nations.

Having the pieces move on their own and verbally controling your moves is not the only difference in Wizards Chess. It is described in the first book, that you have to convince the pieces, and they try to five you suggestions. Having your chess pieces trust you gives you a huge advantage. Giving the game a lot more dimensionality. Suddenly things like 'Morale' and being a good leader are way mor important. Like they say in the Book 'its more like dorecting troops in an actual war'

You divvy out the cards to each player, have them in a pile in your hand face down, take turns placing a card in a pile in front of you and if the card on top matches you quickly place your hand on top of it saying “snap”. Whoever’s hand on the pile first gets the pile. The person with most at the end wins. 😊😊
