This is my most used knot! I have in the passed doubled up in that after I’ve done the one knot instead of tying it off, I’ve taken the remaining end and done another truckers hitch. When cinched down it puts so much tension on the line that it actually snapped. I exceeded it’s maximum load strength. A very very useful and handy knot!

Wow! Excellent! I've always used the Marlin Spike with a toggle on one end of my ridgeline, and a Trucker's Hitch on the other! This will definitely improve the situation! Thanks brother!

I like it, that works good for me. I am odd, I try these knots out at my desk legs as you guys show them. This type of tip/mod, is very helpful to me, only have the use of one hand. Broke my neck in my early teens. Saying that, and having enjoyed years of camping,my,"kit", is totally different in some regards than others, been told I pack tool heavy. Any time I can find some thing to help, so much the better.

40 yrs ago at the age of 19 I was a uk postal worker and I was taught to tie up my bundles of mail for delivery with the postmans knot which took me years to realise was the truckers hitch or a very slight variation of it of course nowadays they use rubber bands !!!

This is a great knot. I've been pairing it with a modified evenk hitch for my ridgeline. But I love this version of the trucker's hitch especially when you working over chin height.

This is one of my go-to’s. Except when I do it, I twist that first loop three times before I lay it over like a marlinspike hitch. Seems to untie much easier afterwards. Take care.

Listen Mr Blackie, you have been talking about making some videos about penetration of percussion bullets for months now, and we have been patiently waiting, so I was just wondering when can we expect to see these videos you have teased us with? Love your videos, you remind of my father a lot, I wish he was still here because I would show him your videos and he would be hooked lol, keep up the awesome videos Mr Blackie! And Thanks for all the great information you have shared.

Excellent presentation, sir. Ever use an artilleryman's loop? It's a non slipping loop (sort of like the butterfly loop) that you can more or less tie with one hand. Excellent loop to use for tensioning setups like this.

I've been a trucker for 25 years, and been using a truckers hitch for nearly as long. (I also twist the first loop 3x as Bushcraft North of 60 said).. I never knew about this variation. Thanks yet again for another useful tip, Blackie.

@@blackoracle69 I drive lowbed, and haul heavy equipment. Almost exclusively chains and binders these days, but I have done some flatbed stuff. Tarped a few loads of lumber. The last 5 years have been in my beloved mountains where the Sierra Nevada meet the Cascades. Logging and wild fire work.
