Tell me that I need to get a Woodpecker line of credit without telling me…😂AWESOME Video and great way of describing all of the tools and how they can be used!

I've made quite a few mallets, and everyone has their own way of making them...never tried the BB trick. While the walnut looks nice, it's a relatively soft and porous wood compared to other choices you can make. I prefer to use hickory for the center of the head/sandwich and ash for the handle. They end-up being pretty much indestructible.

I enjoyed the video very much. I always have reservations when a video is made by, or sponsored by, a tool manufacturer. When those tools are at the top end of the affordable scale, then my reservations increase. I really do fear that people looking to come into woodworking think that the only options for accurate tools are extremely expensive. I appreciate the Woodpecker tools that I have. They are robust and accurate. However, several years ago, I started to put my foot in the water and buy tools from Veiko and Hongdui. I have to say that it is my experience that these Chinese tools are as equally as robust and as accurate as Woodpeckers but considerably, significantly, more affordable. I do not like buying tools that are made in a country with a government such as the Chinese. However, I would add a couple of other points. I do not like buying tools that rely upon a perceived brand excellence to have very high prices. I also understand that there are very few tools (or anything else) that are not made in China and/or made by machinery not made in China. Finally, the cost of most of these tools is a combination of high quality aluminium (a global commodity with a global price); the manufacturing cost by CNC (again a largely global cost);labour (there will be obvious cost differences there but the labour element is minimal); overhead recovery; marketing costs (such as providing subsidised or free tools to “influencers”); and profit. If you love Woodpeckers and can afford to buy them, then good for you. Keep on buying. However, let nobody think you need to buy Woodpeckers in order to make beautiful, precise, functional pieces.

Well done! Simple, yet it gives a very clean look - I would add leather to one face and use hickory instead of walnut for strength.

I am a Woodpecker fan. I I have the Auto scale Sled and I actually built the cradle from your plans. I did modify if by adding two feet with levelers to take the stress off the table . The sled and plywood is pretty heavy. With that said the sled gets used an absolute ton . I am awaiting Woodpecker's releasing there Dado blade I would like to give them a try. I think I also need the perfect 90 in my shop , I love good build videos so thank you for the video.

Thanks so much for your comment! And you’re right it does add some weight to the saw, adding adjustable feet is a great idea. I think I’ll add it to mine as well! Thank you.

Hello @Woodpeckers; You made it simple. Also, could you have used the Adjustable Setup Block instead of the Setup Blocks? Excellent work. Thanks,

I already have many of the items on this list but a few I would still like to have. Since I have the AutoScale miter sled, I did not figure I needed the exact 90. I did not buy the router package items because I have a fairly new Rockler cast iron table with pro fence and lift. I have been really wishing I had the Woodpeckers because of the micro adjust option that makes it so much more useful for sneaking up on router cuts. Perhaps I will find someone willing to buy my complete package and I can make that change.

A really great job at articulating the value of good tools while creating a useful project. I am a huge fan of Woodpeckers, so much so that my wife is no flagging anything with that name to come see me about it. And now there is Blue Spruce of which I am also a big fan. I could not help notice the holder on the side of your saw where you are storing the Woodpeckers Miter Sled along with the drop off sled. I have the same sled and have been starting to give considerable time to figuring out where to store it. That is a perfect solution for me. Did you just build it to fit, or did you happen to draw any diagrams for it? I took a screenshot of the rack with the sled still in it hoping I could make a similar solution. My saw is different and there is an access door on the saw right on that side, but I will look on the other side and if all else fails, I can put it on a hinge to swing up when I need to get into the saw. Keep up the good work Jay

Thanks so much for your kind words! And you’re in luck, I actually made a set of plans and an instructional video on how to make that storage holder about a year ago! I love it. I use the AutoScale every day in my shop and I don’t know what I’d do without that storage holder. I also have an access door that I’m blocking off by putting the holder there. I’ve only ever had to take it off one time when I dropped my arbor nut down in the cabinet of my saw. But I ordered an extendable magnet arm so when that happens again I can hopefully just use that instead of taking the holder off. I’ve had it mounted on my saw though for over a year and I only had to remove it that one time. Let me know if you have any other questions! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHeonaFvhZmLY9Usi=Gn6ROxOd3J7U22K6

@@WoodpeckersLLC That is awesome, thanks so much for sharing that. I have had to get in there a few times as the dust pickup hose comes off every now and then. But I figure a hinge would be more than enough for the few times I must get in there. My saw is a PM2000 and it would be really nice if I could put that dado nut on my saw. Since I have a lathe and a mill, I have that on my list to make one, but perhaps I will buy the example to speed up that process.

PM2000 appears to be a right-tilt saw. I think Dado Nut will fit just fine. Please let us know, if you try it.

Great video, thanks. But please don't reach under a spinning drill bit. You may think there's lots of room under it and that you're safe, but it only takes a fraction of a second of inattention or distraction to have a potentially life-changing injury. Just use a piece of scrap to push the chip into the vacuum port or wait till you've drilled all the holes, turn off the drill press, and then push the chips in.
