Good work on finishing this tricky one. Took me a while to figure out how to achieve what I want. I wonder whether there is an easier method. I might come back to rethink about it in the future. I believe finding the right method is more important. Thank you for the support and hope you find my videos useful.

Hi Bin, I just started learing Revit, and mine is Revit Lt. When I was trying to follow this video, I couldn't go ahead when deleteing the existing elements (wall) in the original template. Googled and somebody said because that some elements have been locked, should be ok once saved as fimily (.rfa) I have tried, but still not working. Does it because my version is Lt so the functions been limited? Thanks, Xiaoli (my computer logged in under my husband's account)

Not sure about the LT. But if you created a family using the wall based family template, there is no way you can delete the wall in the family. The only way to delete it is to create a new family. You can hide it by uncheck the wall category in VV setting.

It can be done doesn’t mean it should be done, this is an example. I suggest you do not worry about it in the family, because most likely you will not see the difference on floor plans and you will document the details using detail component.

I have never used PyPevit. It sounds like a very good plugin. I’ll have a look sometime when I’m free.
