I'm trying to use this methods of modeling timber structure on my project, when i try to attach my wall to the roof, it says "Can't keep wall and target joined", and some walls won't cut to the roof, pls need help
@BINHE615 Жыл бұрын
You can try to raise your roof so it is higher than any of the walls, also make sure that your roof is covering all the wall.

Hey Bin! great tutorial! Actually, I tried to make it along with you, everything was great until 17:38 whereafter you hide the roof and the void below becomes visible. In my case after I tried to hide roof, the void seemed to be covered by a portion of the roof. I tried make the revolve curve smaller but still, the problem persisted. Would really appreciate it if you help me solve it as I need it for my thesis project. Thanks!

Hi, great revit videos! Not related to your video but I came across a problem while making slanted windows face based family that won't cut in the plan view unless I change the category of the family to a generic model instead of windows. But the downside of changing the category would be not having it tagged in the windows schedule. I wonder if you know any workaround on this problem?
@BINHE6153 жыл бұрын
It’s probably related to the view range of the floor plan in the family. Do you mind sharing your family so I can have a look?
@jericcobacha3 жыл бұрын
@@BINHE615 No problem. I'll send it to your email.

Okay... Generally, generic models are cutable, and it will show the cut lines wherever you cut them (cut plane setting in view range of a plan view). Window families are cutable too, but what you see in a plan view is controlled by the view range of the plan view in those families. In this case, your family is a nested family, I found it not possible to cut the geometry in a plan view. I think you have 2 options: either model your family without nested families, or use symbolic lines to indicate the elements. Probably the latter is a better option. You can open some out of the box window family and check out the use of symbolic lines. You will need to use subcategory and projection/cut to control the line weight.

Can you perhaps make a tutorial on how to model based on a 2d CAD drawing?
@BINHE6153 жыл бұрын
Sure can. Can you share with me a simple Cad drawing so I can model it in Revit?
