Yes, we could think of asking: "Your phone number is how many?". Or, maybe better to note that when asking for a "hào mǎ 号码" type of number (room number, flight number, etc.), the English word "what" is translated as "duō shǎo 多少", and NOT as "shén me 什么". For example: "What is your room number?" = 你的房间号码是多少?

thanks a lot for your full explanation that really made chinese language easier to me but i still dont know the reason of using de in the sentences and when to use it. thanks for your cooperation:)
@lornam36372 жыл бұрын
Use it after the pronoun if something belongs to someone. For example 'me' turns into 'my' - 'wo' into 'wo de'. Or 'ta' (he, she, it) into 'ta de' (his, her, its). Or 'ni' (you) turns into 'ni de' (your).

This lesson reminded me the day I asked my Chinese friend to translate the digits on a phone machine into English because, back in those days, I didn't know the numbers in Chinese.

Wouldn't it be 你很好。? We don't use 是 when we describe something. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong please.
