"What is it about the red-blooded American male that we like V-8 noise so much?" It's music! It's music! I was addicted in the late 60's: 289 Mustangs, 327 Chevys, 383 Road Runners, for starters. "What is it about the red-blooded American male that we like V-8 noise so much?" You evoked a big laugh of approval from me with that one. Cheers!

79goldmaster1 how expensive?
@johnmace2447
@johnmace2447 3 жыл бұрын
@@francisprevel1 hes referring to gas mileage especially if you drive hard they really suck down some gas. Id say filling up these beasts would be 60 bucks every 3 days. Thats based on my driving. And a daily yearly average miles of 12,000. Which is the National average anyways. That would be 600 a month in gas just to give you a rough idea. I used to have a 500hp 2002 6spd z28 camaro, and that’s around what i paid. Plus oil changes and maintainece. Which is about 120-150 an oil change and 2-3000 a year in maintenance, so your looking at 10k easy a year to drive this car.

Bob & Colleen Caron Agreed. Still happy with my 2012 SS. There's just something about rowing through the gears even in normal daily commutes. It just makes you happy. Life is too short to spend it driving stuff you hate. Visa vis the 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 that I had. An ok car. It just ended up not being what I like in the end result.

Talk about aging well. Recently bought a red with black stripes SS from 2010 relatively low miles with 40k on it as we speak I mean the car looks phenomenal and it may sound biased but truly the design of it at heart hasnt changed much from the 5th gen to 6th and it was 36k? For a brand new on ? I bought mine for 23. Guess they dont depreciate that much either

It’s funny how things have flipped. The Camaro is more the pure drivers car and the Mustang is more the looker, louder (if you have the active exhaust) hot rod that is more fun as a daily. (However both are drivers cars and both are hot rods and lookers so those are all relative statements I made).

i rented the camaro for 2 weeks in az and love it only complaint i have was that there wasn't enough room in the back seats. i found the seat to be and i found the trunk space ok since the back seat folds down on draw back is the small opening to the trunk i didnt think my suit case was going to fit through it, it is just an odd opening but it works for every day stuff like your groceries or a 50 lbs bag of dog food. But the best part about that car is the happy feeling you get in it

The 5th gen camaro is a bit fat and does make you an ass while driving, but it looks amazing, is a wonderful cruiser, and never fails to impress. Not to mention it was the first car in 2012 (of any car tested) to receive a perfect front and side crash rating. So add safe to the list.

Camaro rocks, even the V6 version (310hp) burns rubber if your not careful. Getting into the backseat is a learned skill, but being back there does feel cozy. And while the truck opening IS small the space is actually quite large. I fit two suitcases, a large backpack, and several camera bags. There was still room to spare.

We have a 2010 Camaro SS and absolutely love it. I am not sure what they were thinking about it not being a nimble car and uncomfortable seats as my lady would say it is too nimble for her taste the way I take some of the country roads around us, and even with her having been a kidney dialysis patient before getting her kidney transplant, we have always felt the seats were very comfortable on long trips, but they are right about it getting attention. The Inferno Orange Metallic color of ours gets us lots of attention, once in a parking lot this couple walked past both a 2011 Mustang GT and a 2012 Camaro SS to come and talk to us about ours, lol. We had to go with an auto trans thanks to my knees and ankles saying a manual trans is a thing of my past, but it performs very well

The rt is the poor man's hemi muscle car. They are not really any faster than the other two brands v6 models. And they definitely are nowhere near what the SS maro or 5.0 in performance. The SRT and up is where its at for Dodge. They are heavy and need the extra power to run with the other two. But the RT hemis need aftermarket parts to run with stock maros and stangs.

Yes, It`s well known that if you are plodding along in fifth gear and then put your foot down, A runabout can out pace you until eventually the turbo comes into operation in the type of car in question, But you simply use the gearbox in the right way and it will take off with the best of them, You can get them from as little as a thousand pounds and up, And these cars have been some of the cheapest high performance cars on the market for some years now

Camaros look much better than mustangs. They look beastly like predators on the prowl. Camaros perfectly merge a modern look with the muscle car era feel. Mustangs fail in that regard. Too modern. Challengers look better than mustangs but are too retro imo especially inside the car. Overall camaros are a better package.

The deficits you've described are common complaints/concerns. This car seems to favor the driver and not the passengers, both shotgun and beotch. There are three things that can be done to overcome these shortcomings. (1) Be the driver. (2) Get a convertible and drive faster than others. Blind spots either dont exist or don't matter. (3) Take your truck to Lowes - not the Camaro. It wasn't intended to be a frieght hauler. Its an affordable alternative to a Vette with additional storage.

The total for the car was $56,990.00 Fully loaded SS. Many of the problems that you talked about have been fixed in the 2013 model IE they moved some of the features from the ZL1 down to the SS. And as for the better feeling with the suspension vs Mustang or that other thing is because the Camaro hads All Wheel Independent Suspension.

Too many reviewers want big coupes to handle like Miatas. They also think everyone wants to drive them like they're on a track. And finally, not everyone needs a big trunk. I have a pickup and a Volvo XC60 R Design if I need to pack a lot. These cars are about looks and attitude. And speaking of it as if it's a gas guzzler is unfair. 28mpg highway is not bad.

@mardamek1 You're most definitely right, but unless you take C63 to Renntech or something, it isn't a true "fastest lap" track car. That's not what AMG is about in it's production level cars. The Boss and the M3 are fast and both may great sounding V8's, but between interior, looks, and that AWESOME exhaust note the C63 puts out, I would have it over the Mustang in a heart beat

@ricepaddy69 I think most of GM's 6-speed V8 cars have that first-to-fourth thing. It debuted on the 4th-gen Camaro in 1993 and the Corvette got it soon after. The GTO and G8 also have it Oddly enough, the V6 version doesn't do that, which is ironic since that's what you'd be buying if you cared about gas mileage on a Camaro
