Oh my God.. How beautifully you did it.. So complicated it was to me.. Hats off to you .. Meanwhile, a doubt... At the fag end you have given an example "I'm feeling sleepy" "Feel" is an abstract noun.. Can it be used in present continuous tense? I think it should have been used in simple present tense. Isn't it?
@EverydayEnglishwithSonia Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for such a kind comment! What you said about the use of 'feel' in the continuous form is partly correct. When 'feel' is used as an alternative to 'think' it is not used in the continuous form. But when 'feel' means touch or physical/emotional state , continuous forms are possible. E.g.: I was feeling in my bag for the keys when you called me. How are you feeling today? Are you still feeling tired?

Mam ..., pls see the sentence " l lay down the book on the table ". What happens, if l remove "down" from the sentence ? You said, "l lay the book down on the table". It seems to be a redundant. Pls comment on.
@EverydayEnglishwithSonia2 жыл бұрын
Good question! 'Lay' means 'to put sth down'. E.g. The workers will lay the carpet tomorrow. (Not 'lay down') "Lay down" is a phrasal verb of 'lay' and it also means to put sth down, but there is a subtle difference in meaning. Here 'down' is not redundant. E.g. She laid down the fork after finishing her cake.
