This worked great! I used your tutorial for my 2018 Hyundai, but didn’t need to open up my garage door mechanism. It just worked straight from the home link after syncing with the remote.

You have an older model that doesn't have a rolling code. It uses a straight digital number that is preset into the opener and remote, usually with dip-switches. The openers with the "learn button" pairs the new remote with the rolling code sequence that is more secure against someone using another remote to get into your garage.

These Instructions WORKED Perfectly On TWO Cars. I tried doing this following OTHER Instructions on my wife's Santa Fe about 3 years ago. It didn't work I believed it was just and "old opener" I didn't even bother on here 2019. I just got my 2022 Tucson and on a whim I searched and found THIS Set of instructions. I just got it to work in under 3 minutes in her 2019 Santa Fe and then shortly after on my 2022 Tucson! I simply do not recall what instructions I tried in the past as it is the Exact Same Garage Opener, BUT Following These Instructions It DID Work. My Only Guess is that I Cleared it FIRST as shown in Step 1? I don't care why I just know now that the end result is that it works! Thank You Thank and Thank You!

I programmed and synced my replacement remote to the 2010 liftmaster first, and then programmed the car's homelink to the remote. Once assigning the button it opened the garage door without having to go back inside up to the learn button (your step 3). 👍🏿

Just an FYI for anyone whose garage door opener does not have a "Learn-switch" (manufactured before 1996 - "DIP switches"). Follow both steps 1 and 2; you do not need to climb the ladder and activate the "Learn-switch.

Step 1.. great! Step 2 - I hold down the remote and mirror button and it never fast flashes to pick up the frequency. Then, Step 3 pressed the learn button, press the mirror button... nothing :/

I’m heard if you hold press the first button on the mirror thing until it stops flashing and then use your controllers frequency to find it instead, that’s what I did and it worked

I have an Access Master that uses rolling codes, so step 2 didn’t work for me, in fact, it deleted the code from the remote and I had to reprogram it with the unit. I tried doing step 3 directly but that’s not working either. In my Audi, Homelink is programmed via the MMI so it setup on there easily.

I got to the fast green linking signal in my new Kona and had the Chamberlain Liftmaster (2014) in the Learn mode flashing yellow, but none of the buttons ever learned... Tried it multiple times but nothing. Even when I had the 2nd person doing the Learn button and me holding the synced Homelink button simultaneously. It just doesn't work.

Okay, so question... you do have to have an actual remote? we have a keypad/numbered entry on our garage door... can we use that somehow?? and do you have to hit the reset on the garage opener itself at the end? Thanks Hyundai tried to explain to me but it was a quick this is how and bye bye

Hey Gina, the keypad would work. I would remove it from the wall and take the keypad into the car and just substitute the keypad for the remote in this video. Let me know if you get the HomeLink programmed.

Hi, so I have a very specific case where I can not make it work! I just moved to a building that uses RADIUM/ KeeLoq® Hopping code.....from what I read the code sent by the transmitter changes at each activation, avoiding any scanning and copying. A special algorithm allows to keep synchronized transmitter and receiver and the transmitter can be equipped with passive tag....so the question is, Am I gonna be able to use the HomeLink on my Hyundai? Most likely not right.....

Was able to program one door, but the second didn't get past the first step - the homelink controller on the car never did indicate synchronizing to the original transmitter was successful. Hi John, you should be able to program the second door without erasing the first. Skip Step 1 (which would erase the first door) and go directly to step 2 and 3. Let me know if it works, thx.

@@cadd9511 you can have someone press the desired homelink button which is programmed to the chamberlain while you are out looking at the LED by the learn button on the garage door opener. Both of you should be able to confirm when the homelink button is pressed the light on the homelink flashes for 2 seconds and the LED by the learn button flashes for 2 seconds as this would indicate the homelink and garage door opener can at least talk to each other on the correct frequency. That would narrow it down to needing the correct scrolling code passed from the homelink to the garage door opener.

Unfortunately homelink mirror not talking to chamberlain. I can't even get past the "press remote and homelink button together while remote is 1-3" away" step. Homelink is unable to receive the signal from the remote for some reason (yes, I tried putting fresh batteries in the remote). With the Craftsman, it was easy. After the "1-3 inches" step, I just had to hit the learn button and run back to car in 30 secs and press home line button a few times to get the rolling code synced up. With this chamberlain, I can't even get the homelink to grab the frequency from the chamberlain remote for some reason.

I tried this on my Hyundai Elantra and Kia Sorento with zero success. I did it in the past with the Kia and it worked so not sure what I’m doing wrong. I cleared the codes and pressed the button on the garage door opener and raced back to the car and pushed the first button and nothing happened. 🤔 I will check 2 things: 1) If you have an LED light installed in the opener remove the light bulb and see if that helps. Some times the LED can make “noise” where it is hard for the opener signal to get through. 2) is there a wire which is hanging down? You should have a small wire hanging down on most garage door openers which help receive the signal. Let me know if you find the issue.

Hey Arline, I don’t think so. If the LED light is flashing when you go through steps for the HomeLink programming that will indicate you have power.

Thanks for the note. Might be a safety feature so if your car is outside someone can’t break your window and press the button without the key to open your garage door. 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I don’t think there is a way. You could snag a universal controller like this amzn.to/2Ktggry and I also have a video on how to program. Once that controller is programmed then you can use it to also program your HomeLink. Best of luck!
