How resilient are these to stabbing movements if you ever had to use it in self defense? Will the locking mechanism hold up to impact? I'd really like one to these knives but will have to settle for the tanto blade as dagger blades are illegal here 🙄

They are SUPER solid! Look at blade hq’s field test of the ultratech, they stab it in a stump, baton, and test the glass breaker. I would %100000 trust my life on one.

I want one but won’t pay the markups. Bought a frag off CT last Friday can’t wait to get it tomorrow. Although paid hefty markup on frag off. Hera I feel is overhyped. A lot people online say it’s just a troodon with heretic pocket clip

Honestly, I think the Hera is better than the Troodon. They just need to come out with a Tanto and Hellound version to warrant the cost. Thanks for commenting man! :)

It’s too expensive, even within the MT lineup. The jimping is a wee bit too aggressive. I absolutely love mine! 💕 💕 Twin fullers with the usual perfect MT grind (yum!). Coffin shaped scales (drool). Excellent stonewash (yeah, baby!). It’s a great size, slightly thinner, shorter, and broader than an Ultratech; somehow it has a slightly more premium feel and deployment. At the dealer’s counter it was one of those “Yeah, it’s overpriced. Yeah, I don’t care…I’m getting it anyway” moments. No regrets on this baby!

People have the usual preference for the Troodon, and still don't get why. I totally agree with you, for the same price range comparing with Troodon standard version, the Hera is a lot nicer, more stylish, with a beautiful simple flat handle, the perfect picket clip and looks cleaner. Much better the Hera. My top 3 favourite OTFs, Scarab II, Hellhound and Hera. Good review.

Had mine about a week now. I love how it's a little smaller than an Ultratech and a lot easier to fire, but my only real gripe with it is the pocket clip. I really don't like that ball, why not keep the standard clip?

it might just be me but i’ve found that the ball helps the knife clip onto my pocket MUCH easier than regular clips.

POS! had mine 8 months, oil it regularly, blade comes out on its own, no switch needed, falls open. Paid 500, should be 50. A real POS!

Wouldn't jimping be part of the blade vs the handle, and called gripping or profiling but let's call any type of gradient design on the handle jimping or gimping, jgimping or gjimping

Hera vs Dirac Delta ? I have the Delta and a Bounty Hunter. The Delta is not the easiest to deploy. The BH is smooth a butter. Was thinking on swapping Delta for this knife.

I have handled numerous Microtech OTFs and the Dirac and Dirac Delta are by far the easiest of my OTFs to deploy. They’re easier to deploy than my Guardian Tactical OTF which is also awesome.
