In the instruction manual it recommends using Vantrue’s micro sd card. Not arguing but just want to bring this to light. You can use any micro sd card as long as it’s U3 or higher including the Samsung pro endurance micro as which is a few bucks cheaper than Vantrue’s. I’m personally going to go with the recommendation because if anything happens, I know I did everything right on my end, know what I mean

Those endurance series are not usual cards , they are really made for many writes

The N2 Pro works really well but compared to the new N4 Pro it’s a huge difference not only with the video the audio as well. I will have to upgrade my camera. I use N2 pro for my ride share driving and sometimes it’s hard to pick up the audio in the back. That’s crazy I was recommended to use the transcend micro SD card for the past three years without any issues so far.

I've been looking for a cam for weeks and was almost settling for Thinkware over Blackvue despite it being way too expensive. Mostly due to features I don't use or don't want to use like GPS. This Vantrue is exactly the cam I wanted all along! It has the expected longevity of a premium, doing the core of dashcams with ease and properly. Obd connector native on the site, nice pricing, selective SD card, capacitors, USB c, IR interior, no GPS, screen in car, perfect! Subpar industrial design I'm willing to accept.

My N4 came with a trim tool. Not sure if they heard you or not, but i got one. I believe the wiring kit you promoted is only good for hardwiring the cam. You need a 3 wire to utilize the parking monitor feature. I purchased the Plozoe hardware kit with G sensor smart parking mode cable. Thanks for the video I found it very helpful. Next time you'll need to add an alternate dog barking ending for those of us who prefer the K9's 😆

I especially like that you mentioned this camera REQUIRES a VanTrue SDHC card - that SanDisk & Transcend cards don't work. That effectively add another $50 for each VanTrue 256GB SDHC card I buy. I also especially like the 160º field of view of the cabin camera, wide enough to record a contact with a Police Officer & wide enough to capture a car & hopefully a license plate # if a car slams into either side of my car.

Great video. Great camera but so was disappointed to find out they don’t have a polarizing lens for it yet. The glare on nighttime videos is pretty bad. A consideration when you’re buying this. The N4 3 channel I received did have a trim tool with it.

I just got it, plugged it in all weekend, there's 0 WiFi, but since other camers wifi are most messed, no audio on back camera, microphone is ok. But, cam looks ok, except for suction cup which in Fl is issue, 130 degrees window. Ugg. If you have issues inside your car, grab the cam and cell if you have to jump out, those uber people that is

It has the best resolution and wide angle of the interior. You can actually see from the front edge of both passenger and driver's side windows!!! We have the Vantrue N4 on 3 of our cars. One of our cars got totaled when a person ran their red light 5 seconds late. Of course the other person said they had the red light, and we had no witnesses, and the cops didn’t have a cctv at that intersection. This camera saved us, I showed the footage to the cops and end of story about who’s fault it was. Camera did cut out on impact as it was knocked off the windshield but we will stick with this camera (I have started switching over to the adhesive mounts with gps now though)

And we did have a camera that started shutting off and coming back on randomly but support was good to deal with and highly technical and they sent a new unit in the end. @@PineappleBaconPizza Yes I did, it was the result of planning previously but we kept a longer USB-C cord in the glove box of our car. I used that long cord and plugged it into the side of the camera (the port on the side of the camera that is used for the rear camera can also be used to power on the camera). I was able to find the video quickly because it was the last thing that happened on the camera before we crashed. The camera was knocked off the windshield (suction cup mount) and our car lost power (hardwired with OBD connector). But when our car got its power back I used it to find the video, and later when the cops asked what happened we still have to give them our side of the story but they looked at the video afterwards. (We are in California) The only part the worried me was that the cops wanted to take the SD card so they could copy the video to their computer at the station. I was in suspense for a little bit because I was hoping the video didn’t get deleted accidentally but they dropped the SD card off at our house about an hour later (the gave us a ride home because we were less than a half a mile away from home) and I was able to copy it onto my laptop.

Whenever i feel like i want to shoot Video of both the Front doors these cameras have Option to Shoot outside at any time like a Vlogger and do not want to shoot video of (Front and inside the Rear Room) , then the SKYBLUESEA B2W & CAMSONIC ULTRA Z 2 & 3 Dash Cam Benefits if a person want to shoot a video outside the front doors sides Left & Right , would be easy to change the direction to Multiple Angles of both the Cams accordingly , option to Rotate , as they Rotates 180 degrees . I love those Dash Cams .

Do you think the higher resolution on the N4 makes up for the lack of 60 fps that the N2 Pro has? I would really like to see a comparison video of the N2 Pro @ 60 fps compared to 30 fps on the N4 using front and rear cameras. I like the dash cam excluding the front Cam , should have two extra rotating lens for rear view as well could rotate on both the front doors left/right too , rotate/swivel 170 degree each side lens . So whoever comes to the either door he/she should be Clearly be captured in the video .

If the rear camera does not work look for the plug near the rear camera it has to be plugged in correctly at the flat spot and will click or the rear will not work. I also found it was high and more looking to the sky so made me a wedge to make the camera look down toward the license plate of the cops car that is parked behind you. I put the big micro card in it and bought the gps unit for it so speed is recorded. Newegg had the best deal when I got my N4.

Thought of something else Customer support is great, keep in mind they are half way around the world but do a great job with trouble shooting and loading the viewer on your computer. My camera paid for itself with one fender bender where a driver pulled out in front of me and 2 seconds later I had a dent but she had a bigger one!

I would recommend anyone who purchases one of these units to run their G sensor sensitivity at max (5). If you're hardwired, the only way that camera knows to start recording is if the G sensor gets tripped, particularly in parking mode. I had mine originally set to 3, and I couldn't figure out why my camera screen would pop on occasionally after I started driving, and I was also seeing massive gaps in footage. The G sensor wasn't getting tripped, so the camera wasn't recording. Once this things realizes you're in motion, it powers up the screen and starts recording. That's kind of a major flaw. I drove back from the beach last night, which always has potential for a traffic incident. There was almost a 90 minute gap in footage because the G sensor didn't pick up my movement once I started rolling, thus no recording. Fortunately, I didn't get into an accident, but if I did, and it turned into a "he said, she said" situation, I would have had no footage as evidence. Vantrue needs to address this issue. None of those setting should be so weak that the G sensor can't detect when a vehicle goes into motion.

That's kind of odd that they say don't use SanDisk when Sanders is like the leading manufacturer when it comes to microSD card well the good thing about having 60 frames per second if you can slow down stuff and Captain license plate but because 60 frames per second is a high frame rate is good for fast moving stuff

Great review!! So when you push the first button to make sure you are saving the video, does it start saving when you click the button or can you save momentarily previous events. For example road rage someone flipping you out and tailgating then you click save video?

It’ll save the clip it is currently recording. Eg. You have it set for 3 min clips, it’s .30 seconds into that clip, you hit the button and it saves the .30 prior to hitting button and 2:30 afterwards
