Watch Part #1 for the RZ450e here:
• LEXUS Finally Has an E...
Three trims available in Canada with standard DIRECT4 AWD
Signature - $64,950
Luxury - $73,550
Executive - $80,950
Lexus has already enhanced its portfolio of luxury vehicles with the application of the Lexus Driving Signature. Introduced to all new models released since its debut on the 2021 Lexus IS, this is a uniquely Lexus driving experience that aims to achieve predictable, linear responses to driver intentions. For the RZ, Lexus engineers pushed the Lexus Driving Signature to an even higher level. Lexus applied its first dedicated BEV platform to maximize vehicle performance and driving pleasure. Engineers then developed the all-new DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system to control front and rear drive force according to driving and road surface conditions. The result is impressive start-up acceleration, handling stability that ensures confident driving, and low power consumption. The standard shift lever is replaced with a dial-type shift knob - a Lexus first that contributes to the sleek interior design.
Curbside, the RZ’s body captures the seamless acceleration and dynamic, torque-filled performance that are intrinsic qualities of pure battery EVs. L-signature daytime running lights are joined on the nose by a striking, heated and illuminated Lexus “L” emblem, while LEXUS is spelled out across the rear of the vehicle, above the blade-shaped taillight.
Inside, a minimalist yet luxurious and spacious interior amplifies the goals of sustainable mobility through the application of mindfully sourced materials. Driver and passengers will enjoy the available panoramic roof that visually opens up the space, the ambient lighting system that welcomes Guests to the cabin, and the comfort of a highly efficient heating system featuring a Lexus-first radiant heater.
All RZ models feature the Lexus Interface - the brand’s newest, most user-friendly multimedia and connectivity system, featuring a 14” touchscreen and natural language voice commands. All models also feature an impressive portfolio of active and passive safety features, including Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, a backup camera with back guide monitor, eight airbags, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, the Digital Latch with Safe Exit Assist system, and the Rear Seat Reminder system.
Lexus will offer Canadian Guests a choice of three RZ models to suit a variety of tastes:
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e Signature (starting MSRP: $64,950) welcomes Guests to the Lexus luxury BEV experience. This model features 18” five-spoke alloy wheels with dark metallic grey and machined finish, LED headlamps and tail lamps, headlamp washers, the Lexus Drive Mode Select system with Sport, Normal, and ECO settings, NuLuxe upholstery, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, a 10-speaker audio system with 14” touch screen display, the Lexus Interface (with Safety Connect, Service Connect, and Remote Connect), a 7” digital instrument cluster, single-setting ambient lighting system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging system for personal electronics, and a Level 1 vehicle charging cable for a 120V outlet.
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e Luxury (starting MSRP: $73,550) builds on the Signature model, adding a fixed glass panoramic moon roof, power back door with kick-sensor activation, driver’s seat memory system, ventilated front seats, 20” split 10-spoke alloy wheels with dark metallic grey and machined finish, the Lexus Interface (with Drive Connect as well), a single setting ambient lighting with shadow feature, door courtesy lamps, premium instrument panel decoration, Parking Support with Brake, the Lexus Panoramic View Monitor system, and additional safety technologies including Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Alert.
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e Executive (starting MSRP: $80,950) further enhances the Luxury model, adding Ultra-suede upholstery, heated rear seats, fixed glass panoramic moon roof with dimming feature, head-up display, 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, the Lexus Adaptive High Beam system with dynamic leveling, 20” split 10-spoke alloy wheels with gunmetal finish, a digital key with key card, a high-grade meter cluster, acoustic front and rear side glass, multi-colour ambient illumination system with shadow feature, and the Lexus Advanced Park system.

Absolutely spot on regarding actual daily use in a mostly urban/suburban environment. I’ve consistently gotten 240-300 miles on a 90% charge on my Polestar 2. I have a level 2 charger at home. I drive about 30 miles per day and live in a moderate climate. I drive normally and it’s a pleasure driving past $5 plus per gallon gas stations. We have a Toyota hybrid for long distance trips.

Looks like an excellent package of comfort, luxury, battery life and range for city driving.

In Norway we now have got updated models both for the Toyota bz4x and Lexus RZ450e. Now they show the real use of air condition which was much lower that in the car you drove. Your car had longer range than it showed just like the Toyota which I tested and found tha it showed 13 % shorter than the real range. Now this is updated together wthe anong others better systen for warming the battery both for charging and driving in cold weather, and the fast charging is updating for less than 30 minutes from 10 to 80% in most weather. And wirh a larger part of the battery that is not in use than most cars, you often uf needed can charge to 100 % if needed with your home charger without damage of the battery than for most cars. For both Toyota and Lexus you can have 11 home charger, but most people I know use 6 Kw charger. We have had a lot of Toyota and Lexus og ved siden av good safety and desent driving comfort the most importent for us is the durability and reliability, and of course the servicelevel. We have never done others than normal service and maintanance and have never had any problem with these cars, and never needed to visit their workshop for broken parts. And will never dare to buy any others.

This is what I have been saying. Most of people using ev for daily commute. and this RZ works perfectly. Regarding long road trip, there is no EV suits that purpose

1 drawback is the ability to charge if you are living in a apartment complex because they don't have access to charging stations and rely on public charging locations thanks from oakville Ontario

There was a video I found in regards to just that, customers can purchase an adapter that will plug-in to household outlets and convert the voltage through it for the charger which increases more miles per kWh.

I'm honestly not too disappointed about the range, I have a 2019 UX hybrid and get 220 miles about 3/4 of my tank that will last me almost 2 weeks. Charging the RZ to even 80% will be pretty cheap. Lexus offering the loaner car option will be nice to avoid using the RZ, putting miles on it, and eliminate any range anxiety. I am not sold on price...the RZ should have been around $50-55K but I get it the 300+ hp is the hype. I'm going to wait for the RZ300 which has been trademarked and hope Lexus knows what they are doing.

This is nice but idk if I want to trade for that. I wish Lexus would give us a coupe truck model, like the GLC, GLE coupe, or the X5,X6

I have a 2020 Kia Soul EV, nothing wrong with that 64KWH battery for the many, many long distance road trips all over high mountain passes without ANY issue, so I disagree with your comment that type of use is not recommended for an EV. We drive from Gibson's to Calgary and arrive there about 9:00pm we could get their earlier but the 6:20am ferry lands in Horseshoe Bay at 7:00AM, we get to Hope around 9:00am stop for a quick breakfast and leave in 25 minutes with enough range to get to Kamloops for lunch and a 40 minute charge. Our new 2023 Ioniq 5 Long range will do even better once we get the Fast DC charger fixed under warranty.

So the battery would last about 10 years and not 3-5 years how it says on the manufacturer site?

Its at the top of my list, but i feel that electric cars are going to improve very quickly, in range and hopefully in reduction of cost.

A great luxury SUV but not a great efficient EV SUV for the time being. But I have faith Lexus/Toyota will improve in the next few rounds.

i travel about 170km a day out of urban city to the country with an elavation of 600 metres to 1800 metres altitude , think the RZ 450e will do the job as a daily driver.

My thoughts exactly, I only do about 22 miles a day just for work and could just plug in at home or if I am at a store.

I think cars are a utility that open up the opportunity to go any where. EV’s don’t fulfill that mission and the more expensive they are, the less they make sense. For instance. Why buy an i7 that can barely go 300 miles when the whole premise of the vehicle is to be able to carry people in comfort over long distances? EV’s make the most sense when they are in the form of small commuter cars.

Its not as craptastic as the MX-30! Why doesn't Toyota keep the LS 500 and LX 600 smaller and lighter?
