Brown rice and Ampalaya (Bitter gourd) for this dude. Maybe Bitter gourd pills too its a Godsend for diabetics to improve their health situation. Carinderya and home cooked stuff is way is healthier for him than fastfood joints. He needs to leave the usual Western food and diet behind.

I remember taking about six large stacks of data cards each week in the early '70's to IBM, and they would quickly chatter them through their big machines, and in a few minutes our cost-estimate was all done; and i would think to myself "man alive, talk about high tech and progress" ! Buddy, go on a Keto diet and lose 70 pounds; you will feel like a new man. Best wishes to you.

Sometimes I fast for 24 or 30 hours, and that works great also but only do it once a week or once every two weeks because it is really tough, but I can drink my tea and water with no additives.

Well, If you are retiring don’t just keep sitting in your house. Do walking and eat healthy foods. The Philippines is has lots of organic foods and some Expats commented that they get better there. Don’t blame the healthcare because wherever you go if you don’t take care of yourself it does help to prolong your life. Me and my husband will be back home for good so he can eat more organic foods and fish. Here in the US he always meat and a lot of junk foods. I research a lot about the Healthcare insurance that we can use in the Philippines. So far I have found few that we can use in some hospitals in Philippines particularly Cebu and Manila.

I am born and raised in Minnesota, and still live there. Yeah, I'm from a small town also...never tried the hot water thrown into the air and frozen when it hit the ground tho either. A little known secret from us in the colder climates is that we exaggerate a little bit about the weather...it's not quite as cold or snowy as we always claim. Not that it doesn't get extremely cold, icy, snowy, but not the 6 ft. of snow we always claim...LOL! The icicles hanging from the trees are absolutely beautiful as well as the snow sometimes. Also, everybody thinks we all do winter sports...this guy didn't and plus me neither as well as many others don't...we just stay inside and try to stay warm...LOL. The kids love it, though. I kinda identify with him (not the money, of course!) but we both are probably about the same age and yeah, I was in the computer industry too way back "in the day", as they say, as well as have many of my relatives/friends in it. He's right...when computers were new, you didn't need to be a genius to work with computers...just know a little bit more than someone else, the average guy, which wasn't hard (sorry!). Now it's a whole different ball game...he's right, you have to know so much, and specialize because there's so much competition now that computers, obviously, run the world. God bless. This guy sounds like a wonderful guy...I wish him well.

There seems to be a lot misaligned with the great amounts of money he has and earns vs the way it's being spent (Im also an expert on this) but it would make him a tremendous amount of difference to have a keen accountant/money geek to take control of that and show how, when, why he can do a lot more including afford some health-improving lifestyle changes. As some here mentioned, ONE of the single best health imrpovements can be living comfortably in the Philippines where he can have daily access to a pool, to prepared meals, the free time to join a walking club or some activities AND just simply being able to go walk about and do things every day, outside, away from the sofa or desk. a year later? a LOT of that weight will come off but so wil the cardio go up, the muscles bounce back. If nothing else, since he's a professional drummer, there would be dozens of expats and locals who'd love him to join their band and that itself is a great night of a 'work out' that beats any gym or running track.
