Hello Susan. Lovely channel. I am English and make these supports for my garden. Just a tip you may not have not have gathered on your trip. Soak the weaving rods in water to make them more pliable. Important In your warmer states to prevent them from breaking. Also they do not have to be perfect .... mine never are... adds to the charm !!!

Hello, Norma. It's wonderful to meet you! I'm happy to report that I haven't had any problems with the rods breaking but I think soaking them is a good tip. Thank you so much!

Lovely Madame.....I am going to make these for my cottage garden~~~~~~ blessings. These would be good therapy for those who are having a tough time during Covid....or any other tough patch as they are delightful and so naturalistic....quite therapeutic and rewarding I would say.

A great way to get branches to be more playable is to just soak them in some water before using them. Basket weaving technique :)

I love to grow nasturtiums in my garden but they take up a lot of room. Maybe I could grow them on the obelisk to save on room. That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing.

There are a lot of really cool climbing nasturtiums available so go for it!

Use an odd number of verticals and the weaving will be easier -- you can do a continuous weave row to row.

Where do you buy these sticks?
@SusansInTheGarden4 жыл бұрын
We didn't buy anything. These are branches and trunks from small trees that we didn't want/need in our gardens.
