Oh boy, you are absolutely right about both of those! And this year, I'm hoping to make a dent in all 3 to be honest. They all grow, shall we say, "exuberantly".

I have planted gooseneck loosestrife 15 years ago. It has spread but not much. Easy to control.

Beautiful flowers and beautiful place. I see a lot of work, love and care. We have a lot of beautiful flowers and trees in the garden, but I love sunflowers the most. I also made a video from our garden. If you want to look, maybe you'll like it. Beautiful greeting from Prague, Thanks for the nice video and I wish you all the best.

I am enjoying your channel and your garden so much! You have inspired me to start my own little flower garden and I was wondering where do I start? I live in zone 9b, Southern California upper desert where we get really intense heat and I would really love to add some plants that attract bees to help my veggie garden. I'm very new to gardening but so far I've been able to grow a few veggies, mostly in pots and raised beds. I love your style of gardening and will be applying some of the tips you've shared about your garden. Thank you!
@SusansInTheGarden6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Maricela, for your nice comments! You will want to add some drought-tolerant plants and I would suggest looking at High Country Gardens website for some ideas: www.highcountrygardens.com. They sell drought-tolerant perennials, plants to attract pollinators, etc. Also, a garden writer friend of mine, Nan Sterman, lives in San Diego and has written some helpful books: "Water-wise Plants for the Southwest" and the "California Gardener's Guide." I also recommend contacting your local Master Gardener program for some suggestions and guidance. You can search for them by going to mg.ucanr.edu/. I hope this helps! Happy gardening!

What a beautiful garden. Can you tell me the name of the rudbeckia that you mentioned in the beginning part of your video? Thanks!
@SusansInTheGarden6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Evelyn. All of those yellow/gold/rust Rudbeckias are Gloriosa daisies that I started from seed. I got the seeds from Ed Hume Seeds and they’re very easy to grow. If you live in a colder climate, I should mention that they occasionally don’t make it through our winters. Anyway, those are Rudbeckia hirta and they Are bee magnets! Thanks for asking.

Excellent video, really enjoyed. Gorgeous garden. Are the purple flowers at the 5:09 mark bellflowers? Can you please tell me what variety they are? I really love them. Thanks!!
@SusansInTheGarden7 жыл бұрын
Hi, New Jersey Garden. Thanks for the nice note. There are 2 types of clustered bellflowers in that huge mass of purple! Campanula glomerata acaulis and Campanula glomerata superba. Both are very easy to grow but know that they self-seed readily. In general, though, that's a nice problem to have!

Let's see... black-eyed Susans, asters, coneflowers, September Charm anemones (although keep an eye on them so they won't spread too much), Joe Pye weed, goldenrod, sneezeweed (Helenium) and DEFINITELY sedums! (think "Autumn Joy' for starters)

Hi, Simon. Thank you for your nice comments. If you live in the Spokane, WA area, you will find some of my daylilies at the Spokane County Master Gardener plant sale in April. But I don't sell daylilies commercially in case that's what you had in mind. You might try Lasting Dreams Daylilies (lastingdreamsdaylilies.com). They have an amazing selection!
