Thanks @SteneWoodwork. It is. I have a hereditary version and we have 36 folks in my family over 3 generations. So we know what to expect, but that doesn’t make it easier.

Cory, what is the treatment you’ve been on? I’ve got a family member battling ALS right now and he’s been trying some alternate treatments as well. So awesome you got to go!

Hey Seth, the name is Qalsody(tofersen). It’s for the specific gene mutation I have, SOD1. The neurologist can do a blood test to see if that’s the same kind your family member has. I will say that it is a pretty rare version. Less than 2% of ALS is linked to the SOD1 version. I’ll keep you family in our thoughts!

Hey @nckcunningham, it’s called Qalsody (tofersen), I have a pretty rare form of ALS. The SOD1 gene mutation. It only affects less than 2% of the US cases. But we will keep your family in our thoughts! I’m hoping this gets some legs and we can bring awareness around ALS and help research funding so they are able to develop similar treatments for the over 150 different gene mutations that they have linked to ALS.
