I don't think that first guy's price increase has anything to do with Bandai, or because it's a "poor" county. Probably like you said just taxes for some reason. It's not like Bandai has it out for lower-income countries. I know games are super expensive in Brazil, for example, because of their taxes. I live in Taiwan, which isn't a "poor" country but it's lower-income than the states, and games are generally cheaper than they are in the states (including Elden Ring). That said fuck Bandai (and Square) for another reason--because they release their games in Taiwan without English, so I have to get them from Amazon. Every other company includes multi languages, but Bandai and Square just do Chinese only. So many expats in TW were trying to re-sell their Elden Ring on FB marketplace after realizing the disc didn't have English lol.

I can imagine prices were increased in more countries than just his. Video games in smaller or poorer countries are made to be more expensive than in the US for some reason. My theory is that in order to keep games lower in price here, they increase the prices otherwhere in the world to counteract the fact they might be selling games at a deficit at $60- 70. Just a theory.

It's the exchange rate of the dollar versus the local currency most of the time. Then you have cases where games can actually cost more than in the U.S., like the UK because the number will be the same, but the pound is worth more than the dollar. Either way, poor countries buying a small quantity of games isn't keeping American prices low.

And since the industry is hellbent on keeping physical and digital pricing the same, there is no break for consumers in those regions digitally either, unfortunately. My point was simply that the additional cost that some areas pay was not keeping U.S. prices down.

Co op is kinda like that in all the souls games its always tied to an item or password system. The games are mostly designed as a single player experience.

@@samw2670 its not cheesing the game literally encourages you to stop beating your head against the wall and go kill something somewhere else untill you get stronger. nobody said anything about cheesing its literally open world for a reason. you can upgrade your weapon, get a new one, level up and get some better stats and then come back and try the enemy you couldnt beat before.

You know people don't all approach experiences the same, right? There's nuance to this shit, there's nuance to everything. Like these guys 5:00 7:00. People can play through a game fully, even a second time and still not enjoy it. I have 174 hours in Elden Ring and I'd still say I'm just 'giving it a chance'. I'm trying to find what others really like in it. I've beaten it, and I've started a few other characters too. It's alright. It has fun aspects, and some systems are way better than other Soulslike games, but some are worse. I'm overall disappointed because it wasn't what it was hyped up to be, and though I'm happy I had the experience of playing it, I don't think it's a good game. edit: just wanna say I don't want to sound like a pretentious dick. If i am, flame me for it. I'm just being critical because I care about the state of the game, and the games industry.
