I don’t understand how people can’t have more sympathy for her. She was horrifically abused by her mother as a child, and when she got justice for her self, she was imprisoned for a very long time. Personally, I don’t think she should’ve gone to jail because I consider murdering your abuser to be self-defense but that’s neither here nor there. My point is due to the abuse, and the fact that she spent so much time in jail. She probably has a ton of unprocessed trauma, and she has no life skills. Of course she’s seeking fame. She has no other way to make money or build a career. It probably also doesn’t hurt that being famous gives you a lot of validation and I’m sure she has a horribly low self-esteem.

Heres the thing, Gypsy is definitely not all there and im convinced her husband is an opportunist who is also not all there. With that being said, its very expected that Gypsy is missing some marbles given she was horrifically abused and took many medications she didnt need all throughout her life + surgeries she didnt need + she never had a normal education, and was never properly socialized. This is the first time she has ever been free. Before she was her mothers prisoner, then immediately she was in a literal prison, now shes finally free BUT she doesnt know how to be an adult. She doesnt know how to live life out in public without the spotlight being on her. She constantly got donations, Disney trips, wishes granted, celebrity visits, donations of money, food, clothes, and toys etc. She isnt used to anything else besides embracing the attention because thats what her mother thrived on.

Just because you didn't do something doesn't mean someone else doesn't get to decide what is best for their life and their own personal healing journey. Plenty of victims of horrific abuse have gone on to write books, go on TV shows, have movies made about them. Plenty of victims have gone on to be in the public eye to help raise awareness about the awful things they went through. Many therapists will agree it can be cathartic to channel that energy into something positive. As a victim yourself, you of all people should know that each person deals with their abuse and trauma in their own way. No one gets to tell you how to handle yours and you certainly don't get to tell her how she gets to live hers. She spent her entire life having someone take every choice and decision away from her. Nope get a husband, make movies, do interviews.....rewarded for destroying two lives. Anyone says anything against her and you get " she was abused, she's a victim". He wanted to kill someone and then he met Gypsy and That’s when Gypsy told him everything that happened and ask him to kill Dede and he said yes. No need to manipulate him. Then he came to her house and while Gypsy was in the bathroom waiting for her mother to be dead. Nick stabbed Dede more than 10 times and then was going to rape the body until Gypsy said no and ask him to do it to her and he bite her two times and then had sex. That’s what happened and nick said that straight to the police and said he enjoyed killing and would do it again. While Gypsy regretted it so that’s why he got life. I know how hard it is to go against an abusive parent. It took me a decade to even start to unravel the damage, and manage my life as an adult. That's why we need to move the statute of limitations out further! It really messes you up and affects the rest of your life in ways you aren't even aware of at first. You just know you keep failing at managing your life. I would expect Gypsy to not be managing her life well right now. Wouldn't you? People are so fickle. She was a victim of horrendous abuse. I'm sure she's got PTSD, and Stockholm Syndrome. When your parent is your enemy, and you love them because you're their child, it's a mind f*ck. Agreeing to let the media make a quick buck off you because you think people want to hear your story, doesn't make 'her like her mom' or a suspect! C'mon. People seemed to like her, she thought they were interested. Was she supposed to tuck her tail and hide? She didn't ask for all those followers! They just came. This is her first taste of freedom, how was she supposed to react? She hasn't had a chance to learn how to be an adult, give her some time without more hate and abuse. Let her grow up, she never got to do that. If Elizabeth Smart had killed her captors, everyone would've cheered. Gypsy's mom was just as much a monster as Elizabeth's captors. Her life and her mind were in real danger and being abused every day. Elizabeth Smart went on a speaking tour too. This is only turning on Gypsy because the Internet works like this. Fly too high, people will turn just so they seem more informed and different, and not following the crowd. We can't know yet who Gypsy is. We at least owe her a chance to learn without this backlash of hate. When I was living with CSA, I didn't ever know in my mind that calling police would work. If you've been there, you know. I didn't tell, because I was told not to tell, I was threatened by someone in authority over me who was right there in my home. I didn't know I could disobey them. I tried to run away once at age 12, my stepdad packed my bag for me and said goodbye. I walked less than a block, realized I had nowhere to go, and turned around. A child doesn't think like an adult. I had no idea who could help me. I thought nobody could.
