Hyperpop is EGREGIOUSLY niche as it is, let's be objective baby it's terminally online music and normies couldn't give a fuck. It was cool for a _liiittle_ while, but the thing that drove me away is ultimately its core ethos. Hyperpop is made to be disposable just like its hot rich older sister, what I like to call "modpop". Rock was the first pop, grunge and nu-metal and hip-hop had their day, but modpop is that early 2000s garbage manufactured by the labels to condition people into a consumer lifestyle. The pioneers of hyperpop set out to do that ironically, but doing, thinking, or liking things ironically is for cowards who can't exist outside of the approval of others. I don't see a future for hyperpop at all, nor sigilkore or any of these niche internet "genres". I'd like to be proven wrong, but I don't think anyone is gonna remember A.G. Cook and 100 gecs the way we remember the likes of Lennon, Bowie, or Tupac.
