That moment when you realize Olafs speech about love is even MORE foreshadowing to what the act of true love turned put to be. "Putting someone else's needs above your own." = Elsa willingly shutting herself away for years AND running away from Anna at just the fear of hurting her again. Anna STILL willingly stopping Hans from killing Elsa because she still loves her, despite everything. And just as the cherry on top: The speech came from Olaf himself, the literal embodiment of their love.

There was a theory I heard about this movie where Hans is actually a fragment of an enchanted mirror, and every scene he's in he actually begins to reflect the person he's interacting with. 1. Anna: he reflects her personality, like her desire for a fairytale love story. When he smiles after their first encounter, it seems to be one of actual happiness, not of scheming. 2. Elsa: after she shows him the responsibility trait, he starts to show responsibility and begins to take care of the town while the sisters are out. 3. The Duke: it's not until after he interacts with the Duke when he seemingly develops the power-hungry trait that dominates for the rest of the film.

One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite reactors together at last! 😂 Honestly, it's overhyped-ness never got in the way of this being one of my favorites, I relate to Elsa so much and Anna is the sister I wish I had. And when I hear people say Disney isn't as dark as they used to be, they seem to forget how this movie basically tackled mental health. As for the whole thing with the parents separating them, there's actually a book that's a prequel to both this and the sequel (Dangerous Secrets) that kinda explains why they did that. Also, Grand-Pabbie DID say there was beauty in Elsa's powers before mentioning the danger, he was just giving her a warning and they just happened to not take it well. PLUS, he was the first one to point out that only true love can save Anna. Speaking of the sequel, I'm aware that it's more polarizing and I can understand some of the problems people have with it but I personally love it as much.

A lot of Josh Gads lines were improvised. And by that I mean: They'd tell him what's going on in the scene, and/or have a character speak, and Josh would just respond as Olaf.

I remember watching this film for the first time in fifth grade in 2014 and looking back at it, it totally upended every cliche about Disney princess movies and subverted expectations in a good way. Pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns and focus away from a prince charming saving the day. It was a breathe of fresh air for Disney and all the songs were great. I instantly knew it was going to be a huge hit. Also, I remember the times where kids in my elementary school would tell you to stop singing if you sing any song from the film, especially Let it Go. Hell, during field day, my teacher named us the “White Olafs” (if I remember correctly). That just shows how big of a phenomenon this movie was.

Frozen Heart", the film's opener, has a lot of lines that pertain to the rest of the film, particularly the complex nature of Elsa's magic and story's theme of love versus fear. The law of the kingdom seems to be easily ignored. Anna being a princess can just leave the kingdom under the leadership of the prince of another kingdom she was not even officially engaged to ( Elsa had not approved it so it was not official). He then seems to have the authority to along with other people who are from another kingdom, imprison the - still legally crowned queen and nobody questions this.

I still remember my very first viewing of Frozen, 9 years ago. As much as I like this film, it has some flaws. Well already, the animation is sublime and the characters are endearing. Anna is a real ray of sunshine too cute, Elsa is an interesting protagonist in the tragic sense which makes her endearing, Kristoff is nice, and Olaf mixes humor and cuteness wonderfully ❤. Rest Hans and... It's quite tricky. The idea of making Hans a nasty surprise is good because it wasn't too common back then. But they did it wrong. His goal is to take power, but from the beginning he feels attached to Anna and that he cares about the fate of the kingdom. If his motivations had been better developed and he was all doing this in order to promise Arendelle a better leader, it would have made him a really well-educated and very complex character. But hey, to make a complex antagonist, there was a lot of way between Frozen and Encanto. And also, that we don't explain too much the origins of Elsa's powers is quite problematic (well it was explained in the following but still). The songs are excellent and heady ✌. And my last concern is that a lot of people hate this movie because it was too successful. I mean, okay it's not the new Lion King or even the best Disney, but that's no reason not to enjoy it because it's too successful. It's a good movie, like all good Disney

I personally subscribe to the theory that Hans isn't truly evil but is being manipulated by the troll magic. If they could erase Anna's memories of Elsa's magic, then why couldn't they twist Hans to being self centered and evil? They even state during "fixer upper" to "get the fiance out of the way and the whole thing will be fixed." The trolls are evil, I tell you! Also, are we ignoring that at the beginning of the film that the female troll steals Kristoff away from his family. "cuties, I'm gonna keep you!' like, girl, no, they have a family. Anyway, we all love/hate Let It Go but it was the point in development that fucked up the movie. Can't have a villain song with a positive message.
@meggsy82
@meggsy82 Жыл бұрын
Considering that Sven was a baby reindeer and they were all wearing fur, it's likely they killed Svens parent/parents, ate them, and made their fur into clothing. They likely would have done the same to Sven once he matured. So the trolls may have taken Kristoff from a family but they also potentially saved Svens life. 🤷‍♀️

@@Kyss111 I agree. Especially when you consider the line of succession. It's not at all far fetched that he would do whatever possible to gain power outside of his kingdom.
@nikkisumesh
@nikkisumesh Жыл бұрын
Nah. Firstly, you can see traces of him being evil early on in the film. Once you see the betrayal scene and rewatch the film, you would catch it. It fits perfectly. Second, the trolls could not erase/change Hans' mind unless they had him, right in front of them. They cannot manipulate some dude standing literally miles away. There's been no proof of them doing that. Trolls do have magic, sure, but not so powerful. And lastly, we see that Hans reaches the palace around the same time that Kristanna were with the trolls. They did not previously know that Anna (the princess) had met Kristoff and could possibly be together. When Anna was with the trolls, Hans was literally smartly trying to finish her sister off. So it makes the theory even more weird. However the theory is fun, especially when you think that trolls have always had a relationship with those royals. So they might have wanted Kristoff to marry into the throne and they could control the whole country through him, being his technical "family". Also, Kristoff was an orphan, and I don't know if I'm the only one who caught this, but he was never really staying with them. He could just not have survived into adulthood eating only moss. You can see in the scenes that there is no vegetation around... 💀 so little Kristoff must have gotten some help from the ice harvesters, in fact it's actually confirmed in some comics (canon). This means just like as an adult, mostly he had to stay apart from his "family", maybe he slept there and stuff but that's it.

FYI, the type of ice industry that you see here was rather local, and didn't export it. Ice really doesn't travel well without refrigeration. The trade items that were more likely were things like lumber, wool, pickled, salted, or dried fish, iron, and pine tar, also called pitch.

I assume you're joking, but you know the internet and over-explaining. The country doesn't mostly sell ice, they've got entirely ordinary businesses. Selling ice is something you do domestically in summer because refrigerators don't exist. You harvest it in winter and save it all year in ice houses, it's a whole thing.

Hans just walked right in here off the set of Game of Thrones and no one noticed. The weird thing is he wouldn't have actually been a horrible king - after all, he wants popular support so the first thing he does is organize disaster relief. But his treacherous, ruthless nature would have been ultimately self sabotaging for the kingdom, particularly on a diplomatic front.

⛄ I've never understood why so many people find this to be a cut above all other movies of this genre. It's very well made and I enjoyed it, but it's no better or worse than most of the other Disney Princess movies. I genuinely believe that "Let It Go" is the most overrated song in the Disney canon. There's just not much of a melody there. The tune that I left the theater humming was "Love Is An Open Door," which is much more melodically interesting, but didn't get as much attention because it was partially sung by the villain.

Frozen's a very cute movie, though a bit overrated in my opinion... ever since its Renaissance, every now and then, Disney comes out with a mid-to-cute movie that gets much more credit than it deserves: Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, this one, Encanto... WHO'S GONNA COME NEXT?!?!? 🤣
