@@austinvaughn7307 It is also VERY common to get a tier piece you already have. Happened to me 3 times last season. The only way to guarantee you get a piece you don't have is the catalyst. If you use it too soon, you might be sitting on a single piece for 2 whole weeks. But if you get a tier piece from Vault, you can guarantee you have 2-piece bonus on Tuesday.

I’ve found this xpac to be absolutely flooded with gear so far. Was 586 and had three champion pieces and mostly veteran pieces after that, before I even stepped foot in the raid just from outdoor content and +8 delves. This is a massive difference from the past where I would gear from raiding, but now I’m getting normal raid pieces that are worse than what I have already equipped. I am excited that outdoor content feels more meaningful than in a long time. A little wary tho, because I just don’t want to see gear become trivially easy to get (which is the philosophy that ruined other large parts of the game already like leveling - just make it easy, no effort, everyone gets everything just for logging in.. i remember way back when it was exciting to get a “green item” bc of the effort it took and you weren’t just flooded with rewards every second. I hope gear remains a challenge to work toward). Right now it feels like a good balance, happy with the xpac so far.

Theres actually a pretty quick and easy way to get up to two 593 items or one other item. Do the Sparks of War quest and buy those PvP items from it. Ez Vet ilvl gear done in like 10min by doing world quests with WM on or looting those little purple dirt things for 5 sparks each. Only thing you cant get are Rings/neck from that. But you can get weapons.

Using the catalyst now is very stupid. You should ALWAYS wait for 2-piece first, then you use catalyst and the free piece from KSM/AotC to complete your 4. If you use the catalyst early you have 20% chance of getting screwed. You should also not use the catalyst on a piece lower than hero track.

I'm loving the delves, I've gotten 6 pieces of gear from the tier 8s. I highly recommend bringing Algari healing potions and cavedweller's delight, and keybind defensive cooldowns. I didn't know about the catalyst dude (would probably help if I read stuff more in game 😅)

Just dont use catalyst for now, only later for myth gear. For gearing farm T8 delves for full 606 gear then go heroic raids for 616 gear and then when available mythic raids or m10 dungeon for max myth gear, after u get max gear then use catalyst. But speaking of gearing up fast you can forget that, everything needs some time... speaking of 606 gear its fast yeah, but going above can take up weeks or maybe even months, depends on luck/time as a example, i did full heroic raid with no drop x). Besides that if you dont want to do heroic raids you can do T8 delves for vault, you can get ilvl616 there each week, but that can take up to months to get full gear aswell.

Me and my buddy ran tier 8 delves after he did them solo on 8. He said they are so much easier and questioned if they scaled for 2 people. He thinks the enemies had the same health and hit the same. So if you can't do 8 go with a friend and roll them. His DPS was far better than mine I did 8s with the quest gear from leveling.

Why would you encourage people to use the catalyst first week? Such a waste. Wait until you have 1 or 3 pieces, then convert something using the catalyst. Also using the catalyst has nothing to do with getting you a 615 ilevel piece of gear, you are simply converting a piece of gear from non-tier to tier, it doesn't change the item level or upgrade track of the item.

My problem is when you start to try to upgrade the gear you don't have enough of the tokens or the crest so you have to choose wisely what year upgrading obviously you don't want to waste any of your tokens and Crest on explore and adventure but veteran gear can get you in the door for some of these things so honestly you're going to have to upgrade some of the veteran gear to get started to get these 606 hero and Champion gears but again you won't be able to upgrade them because you spent all of your Crest and your tokens on upgrading some of your veteran gear

so different gear take different tokens, also once you max out 1 piece of say "Champion" track gear any other piece of "Champion" track gear in that slot will cost 0 crest on stones. making it easier to upgrade if you get a better piece with better stats. or for example if you get a drop at 7/8 with bad stats you can upgrade your 1/8 now for free to 7/8 or rather just with stones

Yeah...this isn't great info. Using Catalyst this week is just plain dumb. If you're doing Tier 7 delves, then do 8's since that's what drops the highest ilvl stuff delves can drop. The rest of this is basically just luck of the draw drops, which....yeah. There's nothing unique as a "strat" for gearing. At the moment the scaling of the delves is not correct. Seems to be a bug. A German MMO magazine reported about it. For example, mobs have around 12 million HP in a full group and around 8 in single mode. So something is wrong. For example, as a warrior tank with 597 gear score and 7.5m HP, I get oneshotted while a mage doesn't experience that. Strange thing that.

Ive done almost all the weekly quests, ran the raids, mythics and delves. Only got two items, both vetren peices, a chest and a head slot... You know the epics we get from rep... Yup, got a bunch of useless garbage. So my first actual peice of gear is going to come from the vault. What a joke. I know its luck and rng, but this blows. Started the week at 592, ending the week at 592. Fml.
