I no longer shop Ebay as the sellers charge way too much for their used items, in many cases as much as retail stores where the item is new.
@amywalker7515
@amywalker7515 3 жыл бұрын
The trouble with Ebay is that they now charge a 10% commission on everything that is sold on their site and shipping is vastly more expensive. You have to charge more or you end up literally giving away your items. Why go to all the trouble of photographing and listing items if the fees and shipping costs reduce your profit to next to zero?

All the thrift stores around me way over-price things. Some things are priced higher than retail. Clothes are about the only thing that are reasonably priced. If it has a good label on it, they jack up the price though. Even the crappy furniture is crazy high priced. They want around $30-$40 minimum on a side table. It's cheap looking and banged up. Just go to the store and buy new for that price. A chest of drawers is minimum $100...crazy. That's more than retail.

JG JG, Goodwill and Salvation Army have always been overpriced considering they are thrift stores and Goodwill has gotten worse. They have a store called Rare by Goodwill in Anaheim California which is designed to look like a high end boutique instead of a thrift store and the prices are even higher than the regular Goodwill store. I'm sure people have noticed that Goodwill has a lot of new stuff that is not donated but they are purchasing from companies and that is why these new items are at regular retail prices.

When my daddy died I gave all his golf clubs to goodwill. Fishing poles goodwill. I was so happy to be rid of that stuff. I can't even think how you would ship a golf club. My daddy was a horder when he died I sold or gave away everything. Happy to be rid of it. I sold a 4 thousand dollar couch to a man who told me his wife had always dreamed of owning a sectional. 150 dollars. No regret. I sold the house and bought a very small house I now live very minimally. Best thing I ever done getting rid of that hordes house. If a reseller can make money more power to them. If the poor people need clothing get up and go to the store when they open. Get themselves some clothing. Resellers have to pay their bills also. These comments got to me.

I sat on a sofa at a thrift store for a bit to rest. When I got home I saw the whole back of my shorts were stained heavily with blood. It wasn't coming from me. I remembered when I sat on the sofa there was a small dark stain of something around the size of a quarter but I did not sit there. I think what seemed to have happened is that the surface was cleaned but otherwise it was basically soaked with blood-at least where I sat. I always wondered what the story of that sofa was.....

Let's be honest @9:00 you don't actually make $200 but you have the potential to earn the $200 once the items have sold in a period of time

I occasionally go to a thrift store in Reseda California that has practically a full wall of golf clubs and bags. I don't know how much they are selling them for but no one seems to be buying them. Maybe golfers don't usually look for clubs in thrift stores. I frequent a Goodwill outlet and see clubs there too. If they don't sell there, the clubs are headed for the landfill. If there's a Goodwill outlet near you, stop by. Not just for golf clubs but for thrifting in general.

My best thrift finds this year were two consoles outside Planet-aid bin. The consoles worked GREAT, now gotta get games. *Tip: call the shoppe before going for info on sales, deals, etc. Salvation Army Wednesdays 50% almost any item. Call store for info on deals for Video games. Be very specific to avoid a wasted trip!**

I use a bit of detergent and a slight sprinkling of washing soda. Let sit for about 10 minutes then wash as usual, probably warm water with the heavy-duty cycle. I get most of my family's stains out that way. And they're mostly either blood, mud and grass, or some sort of machine grease. If it's the last, it might take a 2nd treatment, but it will come out.

People probably think we trash collectors are crazy. When our local council had cleanups I used to collect all the drinking glasses, bring them home, wash them then donate them to the thrift stores. I could see no reason for them to go to the landfill.

Hey, I got a tripod worth over 330 bucks for 16. And just the other day got one worth about a 100 bucks for 18. Both looked like new and had a zipper bag. My best find was a DVD car stereo with a pop out screen. It also came with 2 head rest monitors for 99 cents. Everything that don't sell for half price goes for 99 cents on Sunday where I shop.

Taco, Use LA’s Totally Awesome(LATA) multi-use cleaner for clothing stains. I was reading uses on the bottle one day after I ran out of Shout stain remover spray. Let me tell you... I haven’t purchased Shout for almost a year now. It works amazingly well for stains. I also use a nail brush to scrub on the LATA-soaked stubborn stains. I have even missed stains and ran them through the dryer after wash. I sprayed LATA on it, rewashed... gone!!!! You can buy it at Dollar General or Dollar Tree. It’s only $1/bottle each place. There’s no bleach in it & I’ve used on everything!!! Hope this helps. It would’ve taken the arm stains from the Cowboys sweatshirt. Thanks for the videos... ✌️

Enjoyed your video. May I ask what price you sell your sports t-shirts & sweatshirts for? I see so many while thrifting & have been thinking of possibly trying to make some money from thrifting here in Michigan. I see lots of Abercrombie shirts, silver brand jeans, I can get them all half off the last Tues. at a thrift store that helps vets. Love shopping there, money helps our Veterans & thats a great thing! I find the coolest stuff there!
