a couple of observations: 1-Rosario as city (municipality + suburb) reaches 1.9 M inhabitants, and therefore is the second most important in the country, surpassing Cordoba with its suburb by 125 K inhabitants, u will understand it well, since u were in CABA (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) which has 3.1 M inhabitants, but the real city of Buenos Aires, with its suburbs, reaches 17 M inhabitants. 2-since mid-2023, violence in Rosario was falling moderately, and in these 8 months of 2024 there was a collapse in it, the homicide rate/100 K inhabitants (this is how UNO measures urban violence) is 4.7 homicides /100 K and projecting 12 months 2024 is in the order of 5.9/100K, lower than the US average which is 6.4/100K, and as relevant data: In the last month: THERE WERE NO HOMICIDES IN ROSARIO, finishing with this point: what taxi driver told u was the reality Rosario went through:' there was a "war" between drug gangs, disputing territories in 3 or 4 peripheral marginal neighborhoods and in those places violence broke out, the entire rest of the city, more than 95%, didn't suffer that crime wave, these days the city is so safe like the rest of Argentina. and as a detail, for those who still don't know ROsarior: as result of having been just a hamlet until the mid-19th century, Rosario lacked Spanish colonial architecture, so when hundreds of thousands of Europeans arrived they built the great city with their European architectural styles of that time: beaux arts/academicism-art nouveau /deco, just like Buenos Aires (in the case of Buenos Aires, like Paris, was demolished to be rebuilt with those those Parisian styles), that's why: Rosario, along with Buenos Aires/La Plata, r the unique "European" metropolises not just in Argentina, but in the rest of the continent (Montevideo in Uruguay and Quebec in Canada r also "European: , although to a lesser extent) Rosario is then the metropolis most similar to Buenos Aires and allows u to have a relatively similar style of life, although at much lower prices.

As an argentinian guy from Rosario, I got to say that, most of the news about our city violence is an exageration of the media. I've seen your video and I knew that you weren't walking the city, because you were in just one place: the 25 de Mayo Plaza, The Flag Monument and the River park. This three places are in the same space. There are hundreds of beautiful places in Rosario: the Cordoba Street on the city center, the other parks and plazas all over the city; the Independence Park, the Spanish Park, Alem's Park, the Waterfront that we got all over the Parana River. The violence and the dangerous places of Rosario are on the periphery of the city, but I got to say that is not different to other cities in America with a huge population. I think that in Philadelphia, with all the drugs and hustlers, the violence is so much worst. Rosario is a really good place to living.

I've heard that Rosario's crime index declined after two malandras left it in 2019. Charli quetti before pacamblis went back to south patagonia leaving a plethora of crimes that goes from tax evasion to granny hit and runs.

As a matter of fact, Rosario was always called "The Argentinian Chicago". I don't know if you found records of this when you did your investigation about this city so I'm giving you this piece of information. Btw: Liked your vid, so new sub here!

I didn't know that before visiting, bit it makes sense because of all the similarities. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@romancolaneri3087Ай бұрын
Just repairs, but for some reason it's taking so long... The votive flame inside the propylaeum (that's what the structure of that part of the monument is called) represents thousands of unknown soldiers fallen in battle for our independence. The flame burned eternally... it burned 😅

Saludos

Being from Rosario, I appreciate the thorough explanation and comparison - not many see the city as you picture it in the video. By the way, l had the chance to visit Chicago and was blown away by its history 😊

If you arrived during March... yeah there you would have experienced it. Past 7pm days after the crimes of the bus driver, the 2 cab drivers and the gas station worker the streets were empty. A lot of fear surrounding everyone me included

Please, visit San Nicolás de los Arroyos. It's near Rosario, but in the Buenos Aires Province. That city also has a lot of history and beautiful places to visit. It has a theatre called "The little Colón" because its acoustic and beauty is similar to that of the Theatre Colón in Buenos Aires. Also, is a portuary city. And it is the 5th city in population in the Buenos Aires province. It has a tradition not only in History of our nation but also a religious one, because they said there appeared the Virgin of Rosario. There is also the 2nd biggest stell factory of South America, once known as Somisa, today's Siderar. It has 540 square blocks of size. Almost as big as another town.
