The vanity was amazing!! I do have a vanity but might actually use some crates for more shelving space. I'm always complaining about needing more light... can't believe I never thought about putting the push lights on my mirror. Brilliant!!

The apothecary at the beginning is my all-time fav of yours using wooden crates! I'm saving this vid so I can recreate it! You think of using things & making them dual purpose, & it's amazing! The spice rack on your tiny counter space looks exactly like one I grew up with!

Wow ‼️ I LOVE what you've done in this video ‼️ Christmas 2020, my teen son saw your dt crates painted red and made into a coffee bar. He bought, painted, assembled and filled one for me and one for his sister for Christmas that year ❤️
@rscats672 жыл бұрын
What a special gift! I think that would have made me cry to receive a handmade item like that from my son! You know he was thinking of you two the whole time he was making them.
@cbarnes98082 жыл бұрын
Love your crate creations but may I suggest 1 thing. The 3rd one you showed I believe. The coffee crate setup. You used 9 crates but only could use 6 of them and that's such a waste of those 3 that you can't use. Why not just turn them on there side and have the opening opened on the back side. I knw it may not line up exactly but when painted I dnt think it will matter and still look good. So now you can use the 3 crates for your over flow. So you can put extra Kcups back there that don't fit on the front side. So anything extra has a easy access spot to refill the front side. Just a thought so you're not wasting those crates. Or just use foam board to make your tier. Measure it out. Cut all sides plus add a extra piece to put in middle to add extra stability. Then tape them together with good tape. At DT they have the rolls of contact paper or that drawer liner rolls. Pick out a pattern u like and cover the foam board tier with it then paint crates to match.

In regards to the smaller spice rack, you can also add a ton of magnets on the back and stick it to the side of the fridge. I think I’ll do that! Thanks for the tip Love this diy chapter. ❤️

These are great idea’s… Ive always thought these crates were too small to do anything with, but gluing them together to make shelves is genius, I love the vanity idea! Personally I think the knobs you used are too big for them. By the way, you can get paint stir sticks for free at Home Depot, Lowes, etc…

I absolutely love this. I went to three dollar tree stores and they were out of the wood crates. I find that happens a lot after these great videos. It's okay, it just challenges me to make my own with what I have. I do wish more crafters would order large quantities online instead of buyin up the whole store. lol. It doesn't leave anything for us beginners. Anyways, thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us, you rock!!
@BargainBethany2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim! Thank you so much for your wonderful words. I hope you can find the amount of crates you need soon! One of the only things I have ordered in bulk from Dollar Trees website are the crates. If you know you will use them all, I recommend going that route and shipping to store so you don't have to pay shipping cost. In my experience, it's hard to find more than 10 crates at once. Also, you could order the crates in bulk then return the amount you dont need to Dollar Tree for store credit! Either way, I hope you can find them soon and get crafting! :)

My auntie was getting rid of some shelves. You know the thin kind with the lip that you can put frames on. Well I ended up hanging them in my kitchen as a spice rack. Worked out so well in my small apartment kitchen. Btw I love your ideas. I love the vanity but I’d try to dress it up more with a bigger mirror maybe one that has lights on it and I’d use screws for the side shelves and use plywood so it’s thicker wood.
