I bought about 10 of the tray style crates small size ones. and had my nieces do a fun "recycling" project with them. we took tootsie roll wrappers and glued them all over them and made desk trays out of them. although mine is on my coffee table for little odds and ends. But its fun and colorful ( we used regular tootsie rolls and fruity tootsie rolls) and its recycling the wrappers.

I too used the snowmen for legs on a riser.Great minds think a like! Love the pumpkin. I ordered a case of these crates to make a farm house 12 crate and paint stick shelf unit. Will have enough left for the pumpkin too,thanks for the great idea

Hi Shannon, I hope you are feeling better. I loved all these ideas. My favorite one is using the solid crates without the openings in them I would like to make your configuration of 4+ . I have many pieces of cardstock in prints of the ocean, sky, sea shells, ocean vibe sayings and I thought I would like to cut the cardstock to size and with your cool tape put a different piece of cardstock on the inside back of each box. Then I can put my mini bottle of olive shells my mom and I picked up in Sanibel. I have an antique bottle with faux dune grass cascading over it. I have one piece of card stock that says in silver letters against a blue background SHELL YEAH and in that box I can put a few loose shells sitting in there. I think that would look cool hung up in my living room. I have vintage typesetter boxes for my antique thimbles and vintage wooden spools and crochet needles from the 1800 I have in the typesetter boxes but, I love a box shelf with large cubbies. These same style crates are 99 cents at Michael's, so if anyone is buying a large number of them or lives closer/just as close as Dollar Tree, it is a much better deal! The contact paper in the first DIY is also really cool on the Dollar Tree peg boards!

I like the last one, will be great for alot of areas. I don't have much counter space, so that would be good to put coffee pods, sweetener and stirrers in and hang cups on the hooks and then free up counter space

I used the blue tile wallpaper piece on the inside of a DT tray that I painted and have a lovely "tv tray" or serving tray to go with my traditional decor !

Love your video. Just a word of caution- maker sure the crates are the same size. I bought additional crates in a second trip…. There are the small open crates and I found the larger crates (with handles) have two very close sizes but it makes a difference in 4 paint bottles and 3….. just enough to impact “planned” storage space… 😵‍💫

The pattern is chevron, not herringbone. Chevron has 45-degree cut ends that meet to make a point or arrow. Herringbone are staggered. LOVE your creativity! Thank you for these great projects!

Great ideas! I just discovered something on the tiny chalkboard tags from the Dollar Tree (with clothespins attached). I had written on them with a white gel pen. I wanted to change what was on them. I was able to black them out again with a Sharpie, then I could write on them again. The Sharpie tip did get dry after a while, but I was able to just scribble on a scrap until it was writing smoothly again. 😊❤️
