Ka 52 already has similar specs compared to ah 64a/b/c/d and Ka 52M is better than Ah 64E (yes 2 prototypes exists and they'll go into defence ministry state trials this year). Just imagine an attack helicopter that -has 6 pylons in total. 50 80mm unguided rockets, 12 Vikhr/Ataka anti tank missiles (1000/950mm penetration behind ERA) 4 igla/verba air to air missiles, a 30mm cannon with 460 rounds, all of this can be carried at the same time, payload capacity is 3 tons, has a weight distribution system. -has got Dircm (the most important counter measure against manpads) and also has ew suite (lwrs, rwrs, maws etc etc). - doesn't have a tail rotor (one of the weakest spots for a tail boom config helicopter), all engine power can be used to power main rotors. Not having tail rotor also results into small transmission profile, less chances to get hit in transmission. -has network centric capabilities. It can also control UAV'S, get direct video feeds from them and also has secondary function of scouting enemies. -Got a 60 element aesa radar. Can detect tank size targets from 45km's away and warships from 150km's away and also has a good electro optical targetting pod under the nose, OES 52 that is. -Can take 12.7 mm bullets at point blank and 23 mm shrapnels, basically can take a lot of beating. -Got new fadec controlled engines vk-2500. It also has the insane thrust to weight ratio, climb rate with all up weight can exceed 16 m/s. -one more interesting feature is a fully functional ejection seat, it's actually been proven in Ukraine conflict, when a kamov ka-52 was shot down over dnipro river, pilots ejected, the video is on KZbin. Edit- i think we should place an order of atleast 250-300, heavy weight class attack choppers are required for such a big army of ours and good luck buying apaches (3 billion dollars for matra 30 helicopters, 150 million dollars a piece excluding spares and other equipments, BC helicopter hai ya fighter jet ? Technically you can buy 3 su 27/30 flankers and still you'll have 30 million dollars left in your pocket.)

Lch can't be used in desert and low altitude conflict because of a simple reason that it's armour protection is hilariously pathetic (i won't blame the helicopter, it's a light attack helicopter after all) Lch has protection against only 7.62mm AP rounds and 12.7mm shrapnels. And why do you think we still have mi 24's in service even tho military will operate 100+ lch ? You know why ? Because they are heavily armoured, they've better payload, longer ferry range, more ammunition carrying capacity. This is a logistical issue that you have to cater in no matter how much messy it looks. Lch will get shredded apart like cheese just from the small arms ground fire, I'm not even talking about manpads yet. Mi 24 is old, apache can't be bought in numbers (150 million dollars a piece, hal sells su 30 flankers to iaf in just 62 million dollars a piece). Ka 52M is a AH 64E class of helicopter (the most sophisticated russian helicopter till date, 2 prototypes will undergo trials this year.) You need heavy weight class attack choppers if you want to fight a country like Pakistan that has no shortage of manpads and heavy calibre weapons. No other option.

India should procure the platform and add indigenous sensors like Egypt did or Turkey/Israel would have done it if the deal had been continued. Su 30 mki lacks cutting edge sensors doesn't mean the platform is bad. That is why we are going for indigenous super sukhoi upgarde with Uttam AESA radar and whole lot of indigenous sensor suites. The platform of KA 52 is rock solid with coaxial rotors and powerful reliable engines with tremendous firepower and active self protection. Imagine an Integrated battle group with tanks, infantry armored vehicles, armored personal carrier, QRSAM and LCH with KA 52 giving ground support. Any enemy will be overwhelmed by the size and attack power of this formation.

Indian LCH is a light weight attack helicopter while KA 52 is a middle to heavy weight attack helicopter. Procuring KA 52 will have no impact on LCH. Its like comparing Tejas to Rafales. And last point no defence equipment are 100% safe. You said KA 50 were shot down by stinger missiles so what! Even Apaches were shot down in Yemen. Our own HAL dhruv was shot down by our own air defense systems during balakot air strikes. Tanks also get destroyed by anti tank missiles so according to you countries should stop manufacturing tanks..? The ejection seat rockets won't activate unless the rotors jettison, so that's kind of fail safe for you. They must have worked it out otherwise why take such a risk while designing such a system ?

I have seen video where ka53 pilot was shot down in ukraine and pilot ejected via parachute (ejection seat) and was captured alive by Ukrainians. Yesterday I watched a video where 1 ka 52 and mi28(havoc) were fighting the Ukrainians. Ka 52 narrowly escaped but the havoc was shot down. Russians are paying a heavy price for entering ukraine and are moving ahead with a slow snail's pace.
