Ansh Kedia Hi. Thank you for the question. You’re right and hence we suggested that these exams should be scheduled to your convenience. If it doesn’t fit according to our recommendations then there is nothing to worry about. It is flexible. Giving Step 2 CK in internship is a good idea but be sure to revise Step 1 concepts before you prepare for CK.

At least 3 months of electives in required in USA.....you must note that you can't do electives after graduation...so you should do it before you graduate...ie while doing internship in India...take a 3 months leave and do your electives in USA.....try to get the letter of recommendation from professors there...it is also a must....after that come back to India and complete the remaining days of internship......the best time will probably be during your internship...yeah you would have to do two internship...but if you skip Indian internship you can't graduate.....

If I write step 1 in my 3rd year and step 2 in my final year, will it he accepted? 3)What exactly is step 3? Is it easy to pass? I heard from friends that, we have to go to USA and practice under a doctor for some months and later he would give us a grade or something like that.. Is this the step 3 process? 4) And I heard if we pass step 1 and 2, it's almost done! Step 3 is not a big deal. Is it true?

1. If you pass step 1 and fail step 2 ck, you will only need to rewrite step 2 ck, not step 1 again. 2. Step 1 score is valid for 7 years. It is possible to write step 1 in 3rd year and step 2 ck after final year or later. 3. Step 3 is the final step of the licencing process and is not considered for the residency match. It can be given during your residency. But if you want to apply for H1B visa, it is necessary to finish step 3 before match day. 3. You can give step 3 during residency. It is only necessary to pass the exam and scores dont matter.
