Hi guys, I've been doing some research on weapons and armor and how the stats work so I thought I'd make an educational video on exactly how quality benefits the different weapons and armor as well as the overall effectiveness of them.

One property of quality weapons and armor you didn't mention is durability. Which is the main reason I always make quality equipment. Even a one digit quality item will last several times longer than a non quality item. Very important for solo players who mostly stick to PVE.

True, durability does improve significantly when using quality materials however when using tools it still takes the same amount of durability from a subsequent item to repair. For instance, if you repair your high quality pickaxe it can sometimes take multiple normal quality pickaxes to fully repair the durability. This makes it only useful if you happen to be spending long periods of time gathering and no time to repair your gear. You're right and I'd like to go into the quality farming side of things (how many resources do you get from a quality 100 vs a quality 0 tool of the same type) but I need to do more testing/have a better understanding how it all works first :)

The bone staff is my clan's favorite because we arent good at pvp but its length makes it so easy to keep a person away until back up arrives. Two staffs swinging wildly with heavies makes quick work of even the best pvpers

True, they have range, but the damage is severely lacking as you get better armor tiers.

@@SkyKevin oh yeah, they only do around 10 damage at high tier but even then most people get too scared to get close or get interrupted. I wouldnt advise it for anything besides self defense though since we never use them to attack but more so delay being killed in hopes of an opening, reasoning, or reinforcement.

High Q Baskwood > Iron Armor. imo ingots better used for warships but won't save you from explosive ships.

Yeah I agree: I like the rock, paper, scissors concept. They just need to rework it so that people actually utilize it. The meta currently only allows for either hand axe for bonespike sword, which is kinda boring considering all the other weapons out there

Yea and they have mentioned they want to get to rebalancing the weapons it's probably just somewhere later on down their list. a slight change every now and then might be good though to shake things up with the current meta.
