I think the new realm will be related to Mulan. From the top of my head her movies are one of the few movies that utilise cherry blossoms and those are present coming through the door. Could be a wild guess or a bit of a stretch but only time will tell I guess

Honestly it seems like the team has really been listening to the community with the additions of Jack, potentially Daisy, and with Tiana. Also bulk cooking and auto watering. Makes me excited to keep playing when devs actually listen to the community! EDIT: By the "lucky" character addition could this be Genie?🤔 I know everyone is saying Oswald but does Genie already have a voice actor? If so I feel like that could be very likely, especially since we do eventually get access to the Cave of Wonders which is where you find Genie

Interesting update. I don't play Disney Dreamlight at the moment (nothing to play it on) but I have been super interested; though the paid expansions has made the interest wane a little. I am wondering if (as Mulan Realm is definitely coming as it used a sort of quote from the film - "You don't meet a girl like that every Dynasty") the lucky character is Cricket from Mulan? Anyway. Jack I'd put him in the Forgotten Lands, Tiana in the Glade of Trust, Gaston in the Forest of Valor, Rapunzel probably Forest of Valor, EVE in the main village, Mulan, no idea. Also, the Royal Hourglass gives off Keyblade vibes.

OMG. The new character coming to the valley in the spring has GOT to be Oswald, the LUCKY Rabbit!! Think about it... This past year was Disney's 100 year anniversary. And Disney DID just acquire the rights to Oswald after over 100 years (which would make him VERY lucky). Disney+ has also been uploading more of the classic Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons lately. It makes total sense!!! And to take it a step even further, the premise of the expansion's story line is us needing to fix what Jafar messed up in the past, or right his wrongs. That's basically what the Disney company did when reacquiring the rights to Oswald. He was Walt's original character that was taken from him (and that situation is what spurred him on to make the Walt Disney Company in the first place). By including Oswald, Disney is righting a past wrong. Just like our character in the story line (I feel like it's a very subtle symbolism thing on Disney's part). I'm convinced the new character will be Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. And I am TOTALLY here for it!!!!

I’m really excited for the update, but I really hope we finally get better accessibility settings when the game leaves early access. It would honestly be shocking if a game that comes from such a big franchise/company (meaning Disney, not Gameloft) would not have at least more basic accessibility settings upon its official release. The current state of DDV’s accessibility settings is not good and that really needs to change, especially with how much comfort Disney brings to a lot of people in the disabled community, as well as how important gaming is for many disabled people to feel connected with others, especially if their disability keeps them in their homes or makes it difficult for them to access social settings (this has become even more relevant with the games upcoming inclusion of multiplayer)

Pretty disappointed the story is locked behind dlc even for people who bought the game early, especially for a game that was gonna be free. The story is mostly the main reason that kept me hooked. Also Rapunzel too! I didn't expect them to lock such a major protagonist behind dlc, but thought it would be more the secondary characters like princes or villains or animals. I'm not into the dreamsnaps either, so I think I sadly might be done with this game after this announcement. What's the point if I can't continue the story even after buying the game early. That's nice they finally added bulk cooking tho, haha.

The upshot of the game being tied to Apple Arcade is that a requirement of the service is that games have to have non-predatory monetization in order to qualify. In other words, no in-app purchases (hence the no Star Path part). I probably won’t do it just because I don’t need to access the game on mobile, lol, it would be very bad for my productivity. But if it otherwise connects to your main account it might be nice for travel since Arcade is only a monthly commitment, I’ll be curious to hear more about the plan for that.
