This is my favorite Simon and Garfunkel song, and while the harmonies and overall performance in this version are great, they don't capture Paul's bitterness and loneliness the way the original does. (The "Hey, let your honesty shine, shine, shine, like it shines on me" part is for me the most intense part of the original and I don't feel like it has the same intensity here.) That said, EBTG definitely deserves to get more attention than they seem to these days, and this cover is still very good.

Not sure where I was, but I heard this for the first time in years and I was mentally scrambling to connect. This cover is an amazing addition, a thing in its own right, and I agree with the comment that so often you don't hear Ben's voice in EBTG songs. It's so low-key--in keeping with the tone of the original song--and still its own thing. Not a doppelgaenger but a companion. So beautifully done.

I saw EBTG in concert in the 1980s, essentially doing Eden from start to finish which was wonderful, especially to see who had sung which part, their voices being so complimentary. Easily in my Top Ten artists of all time, both of them!
